Sister’s Birthday, Valentine’s Day and Nashville Concert!

After taking a little hiatus, I'm slowly catching up with life. I decorated for Valentine's Day, celebrated by sister's birthday and had a night out at a concert.

I started the month decorating for Valentine's Day. Even though I can't celebrate it anymore, it's still nice to try and a least feel a little festive around the house. I always love decorating when I can, even just a few little touches.
After working a few extra shifts, I woke up from my last night shift and ended up applying for a last minute job. The applications were only open for a week so it was quite short notice, but nevertheless, something I was really quite excited about. I'll share more about it soon hopefully, one way or the other.

I then headed to the salon for a manicure, pedicure and hair wash and style because it was my sister's birthday. My plan was to set off at 3.30pm and get ready at the farm but unfortunately, the world had other plans. I set off a little late after the appointments took longer than anticipated. A crash, incredible traffic and a nightmare drive, I ended up stopping at a service station on the way for a toilet break, to get changed and to do my makeup.

I luckily only arrived to the venue 20 minutes late, after spending 10 minutes parking nearby and walking in. I was quite shocked not to see a chicken option on the menu so I had to order something off the kids menu after not liking a single starter or main option. The bread was nice but the chicken goujons were so dry and overcooked.
We went back to the farm afterwards for cake all together which was nice. Then I finally forced my sister to take some pictures.
The next day was Valentine's Day and I was trying to stay busy to keep myself distracted from the fact I wasn't spending the day with the love of my life, but once again, life had other plans. I had my MOT booked at the place where I bought my car. When I bought it, they said that I would have 2 free MOTs and £750 each year towards repairs. Just before the appointment, they said that it wasn't on the system so I looked through all the paperwork I had and the only thing I could find was it handwritten. I was fuming and so upset.

By the end of the appointment, 4 hours later, I was even more distraught after I felt like I'd been nothing but lied to. Not only was the MOT costing me an additional £40 more than anticipated, I ended up not being able to get the repairs covered with the £750 because apparently they didn't cause it to fail the MOT, although they were red and they said in 2 weeks, it likely will do. I was honestly so hurt, upset and frustrated. To top it off, the valet service was so poor and they didn't even try to do the inside as promised.
A few days later, I got dressed up and headed out for Sunday lunch, at my favourite, The Botanist. It was delicious, sadly the other person didn't think so and so we headed back home quite quickly.
I ended up keeping 2 weeks free to spend time with a friend before he goes away, but unfortunately he had other plans and so I spent the majority of the week pretty down, sad and alone. When I saw my friend was selling, or rather giving away her tickets to a Nashville at Heart concert, I jumped on the opportunity. It was so good and so much fun. I loved all the songs and the music was right up my alley. It was a lovely night out and just what I needed. I'm sharing a full concert video and review next week so stay tuned.
