2 Months Completed!

Image
I have officially posted every day of the month for 2 months in a row, in both November and December! I can't say it's been super easy but more so because of editing travel content for the vlogs and corrupt content, but it is now done and I am officially caught up! It feels so nice to be caught up in time for the New Year and I am so excited to start a fresh for next year. I definitely won't be doing another daily posting challenge in January but I am excited to be able to write and share content more contemporaneously, rather than in retrospect. See you in the New Year!

End of University...Forever?

Image
Growing up, I always wanted to be a doctor. I never questioned how that title would come to be. I wanted to be a doctor of medicine and become either an obstetrician or a neonatologist. I went to university at the University College London to study Medicine for 3 years in September 2014 and then unfortunately failed my examinations, so had to leave and there ended my dream of becoming a doctor...or so I thought.  Fast forward a few months, I decided to go into Midwifery so I then started Midwifery at the University of Nottingham in January 2018. I ended up finding the curriculum at the university very easy and not very challenging, yet still enjoyable. Due to this, I ended up doing a lot of extracurricular activities and taking on a lot of extra roles and responsibilities.  One of these was partaking in a research group alongside my undergraduate degree, and I absolutely loved it. I loved the extra skills I gained, the increased knowledge and the experience of doing primary r...

Sister's Christmas, STI Test and Boudoir Photoshoot!

Image
I headed down South to spend a weekend with my oldest sisters, nieces and nephew and it turned into a bit of a sexy themed week with an STI test and boudoir photoshoot.  Click here to watch the vlog or see below.  After what feels like months and months of working on editing and reviewing vlogs, videos and pictures, I finally finished editing, sharing, writing and posting all of my USA and Canada trip content. It has taken so much time and energy and I ended up really starting to resent it and for the first time, not enjoy editing just because it was taking so long and content kept being corrupted which was so frustrating. Nevertheless, it's all now live and up for you to enjoy, and a big weight has been lifted off my shoulders.  Every year, we try to get together for a sister's Christmas celebration. With me in Nottingham, my little sister in Wakefield, my dad in Wales and my too oldest sister's down South, it can be a little tricky. It is also hard because my two oldest...

Where Did I Go and Review / USA and Canada 2024

Image
Following my month trip to the USA, I wanted to share a quick review of each place, with my favourite and least favourite cities also. I started my trip in New York. I then moved onto Washington DC, Niagara Falls, San Francisco and Vancouver, before boarding the cruise. The cruise took me to Hawaii for a few days, then I finished in Las Vegas and Los Angeles.  My number one favourite place in Niagara Falls and I would go back there in a heartbeat because it was honestly incredible. I wish I had a little longer to see the aquarium especially, and the night view from the US side also. So many people told me to just go for a few hours but I am so glad I went for a couple of days because I got to see the falls during the day, not rush the activities, plus see the illuminations and the fireworks. I would always recommend visiting for the first time between the summer months so you can go on the boats, but I do think it would be fun to see it frozen and covered in snow as well.  I w...

My "Second" Smear Test Experience

Image
Last month, I had a very belated "second" smear test. My smear test is usually due in June - my birthday month - but the GP had no spaces until August, and then I was in hospital when my appointment was, and then I was travelling so I got the earliest appointment I could. I say "second" because my first smear test actually took 3 attempts.  A test smear, also known as cervical screening, is a procedure that checks the health of the cervix and helps prevent cervical cancer. The test involves using a soft brush to gently collect a small sample of cells from the cervix, which is then sent to a lab for testing. In England, cervical screening is available to women and people with a cervix who are registered with a GP and are between the ages of 25 and 64. Eligible people receive an invitation by mail, with the frequency depending on their age. People aged 25 to 49 are invited every three years, and those aged 50 to 64 are invited every five years. I was a little apprehe...

What I Got for Christmas 2024

Image
I always love sharing what I get each year for Christmas to look back and for memory note purposes. This year I did get some money and some vouchers to spend, but the majority of it was presents surprisingly! The big box was a new lawn mower from my dad. I really wanted to get one that was battery operated and had a collector so that it was easier to mow the lawn. I asked for some outdoor Christmas and Halloween decorations so I am very excited to put these up next year. I got some hedge lights from my middle sister, some deer from my mum and some Halloween witches boots from my little sister. My mum also threw in some batteries as I didn't want plug in ones!  I got some sweet treats with some chocolates, After Eights, a cookie baking set and then my mum later added some Robins and Snow Balls.  I got a number of baubles with a penguin and purple scene from my dad's girlfriend and a snow globe from my mum.  My mum also got me some clothing items with 3 different socks, a s...

Festive Wedding, Family Christmas and Wreath Making!

Image
One of my high school friends got married and it was beautiful. We also had our family Christmas reunion and my annual wreath making tradition! Click here to watch the vlog or see below.  I really wanted to be caught up with vlogs my Christmas and it's not quite happened so I've posted some extra long vlogs and I'm trying to post twice and week to catch up. This one is going live on Christmas Day. I thought maybe that was a bad decision because everyone is busy but it's such a fun and festive vlog, I thought why not!  I was really struggling to find a dress for my friend's wedding because her bridesmaid colour is green, so I couldn't wear the colour I had originally planned, and then the other dresses I owned were all quite summery. I bought quite a few different options and ended up falling in love with one of the dresses, and wearing that.  I had a couple of really tough days leading up the wedding and wasn't feeling great. Someone who I classed as my best...
