Festive Wedding, Family Christmas and Wreath Making!
One of my high school friends got married and it was beautiful. We also had our family Christmas reunion and my annual wreath making tradition!

I really wanted to be caught up with vlogs my Christmas and it's not quite happened so I've posted some extra long vlogs and I'm trying to post twice and week to catch up. This one is going live on Christmas Day. I thought maybe that was a bad decision because everyone is busy but it's such a fun and festive vlog, I thought why not!
I was really struggling to find a dress for my friend's wedding because her bridesmaid colour is green, so I couldn't wear the colour I had originally planned, and then the other dresses I owned were all quite summery. I bought quite a few different options and ended up falling in love with one of the dresses, and wearing that.
I had a couple of really tough days leading up the wedding and wasn't feeling great. Someone who I classed as my best, closest friend had ultimately been lying to me for the last 2 years and keeping huge secrets, for absolutely no reason, which really hurt. I then decided to keep busy by clearing out my cupboards, and of course all the memories of Luke came back and I just wish things were so different. I wish I hadn't messed everything up with him. I wish I still had him in my life.
I really hadn't slept very well because of everything that had been going on so I took a nap and woke up very late before my work Christmas party. I quickly got ready and dressed, not quite having time to pack and load the car before having to leave, as I was already running a little late. By the time I got there, guests were only just being allowed into the venue, so it didn't work out too bad and actually, all the other midwives we really late too so it was just the theatre staff present, who I didn't know very well. The whole party was a bit disappointing, but I enjoyed it a lot more than I had expected. The meal wasn't the best but there was great live music and then I loved the free fun casino and spent a couple of hours there before leaving early to get packed and drive myself back to Wakefield.
The wedding was the next day and I woke up as late as I could after a 4 hour sleep. My mum made me a bacon sandwich whilst I curled my hair and then my friend, Maria, and her husband arrived about 15 minutes before we needed to leave. Alice's wedding was absolutely beautiful. It was pretty intimate, with just about 60 guests for the day. They had a one room did everything venue, like my cousin Ellie in July, and a lovely violinist, like my other cousin's Eleanor in August. I got on really well with a lot of our old high school friends, had a lovely meal and enjoyed watching the first dance, kisses, photos and of course cake cutting. The evening was filled with shouting and dancing, with a very loud DJ, but I ended up leaving with Maria and Isaac at just before 11pm as everyone was getting quite tired.
I thought they would stay a little longer, but Maria woke me up at 9ish I think to say goodbye and then I fell back to sleep, before waking for my family Christmas party. I'm not sure why I didn't record much of that, but I hardly took any pictures either. I was distracted by talking and chatting to everyone. We did a quiz, then a music sing a long which was fun too. I drove back that evening as I felt it would be easier and I'd sleep better as well.
The vlog ended with clips of wreath making which has become an annual tradition that I absolutely love. I was going to try and link last year's clips but I can't find it anywhere so maybe I never shared a post about it. Anyway, it was lovely. It includes a free welcome drink, meal at The Botanist and then a wreath making class with all you need to make it too. My cousin was supposed to come with me again, but with her surgery being scheduled, she couldn't end up coming so one of my friends came with me instead. It was still lovely, but not quite the same and the food this time was really quite disappointing.
They brought the starters and mains together which just makes it difficult. The pigs in blankets were undercooked and the chicken skewer was ay overcooked and burnt. When the dessert came, it was also overcooked and burnt in places which was a real shame and disappointment. They were very busy and short staffed, with lots of large parties, but it has put me off eating there again in December sadly.
