I recently attended my first event at Trent Bridge, Nottinghamshire's cricket ground. Whilst a sporting stadium, this was actually a drone show which is something I'd never heard before. I thought it sounded really exciting and interesting so jumped at the opportunity when I found out I would actually have someone to go with as well.  The booking process was quick and easy. The company organising the ticket sales was Yuup who I hadn't heard of before, but nevertheless seemed very thorough. To be honest, it was a little too thorough. They sent out emails and texts far too often in the build up and the week before, it was every singe day as a countdown! It was too much.  In terms of the event itself. This year, Wollaton Park, was hosting a Holi Festival celebration for the public. It was a place for both a cultural enjoyment and as a charity fundraising and outreach opportunity. It was organised by the Nottingham City Council, but in collaboration with Nottingham Asian Arts Council and Sanskriti Association of Nottingham.  Holi  is a major Hindu festival celebrated as the Festival of Colours, Love, Equality and Spring. Additionally, the day signifies the triumph of good over evil, with the daubing of coloured powders for the blossoming of love. The powders used were all made from natural flower dyes.  It wasn't quite as big as I was expecting, however it did get busier as the day went on. When we arrived, it was very quiet, but livened up as the time went on, mostly with thanks to the music. It started with some calming prayer music, then moved to dancing. Another week, another subscription review, this time On that Ass. I've again, previously purchased On that Ass, but only the men's boxers , underwear and socks , both of which I love. This time, I purchased their relatively new women's underwear bundle. I bought the free starter bundle with both a bralette and briefs matching set.  Once subscribed, it's £12.99 per month for a pair of briefs. Then every 3 months, you'll also receive a matching bralette as a gift. They say that all items within a season complement each other perfectly, but mixing and matching different styles is also an option.  As usual, the packaging comes in waterproof, recyclable material that fits through the letterbox so you don't need to be present for delivery. I was surprised they arrived separately and not in one package, which was a little disappointing, but in fairness it could be because of the different sizes required every 3 months. I've used Gruum a few times over the years and usually it's a free product or sample through another purchase. This time was no different, but bar far my favourite product to date! Gruum is inspired by the Scandinavian principles of design and functionality, yet based in the UK. They sell skin, hair and, self care products that are kind to both the environment and you.  I've previously used their cleanser and shampoo and conditioner bars. I personally don't love these, but not because of the products themselves, because I find the products generally okay, although they do take some time to get used to. It's more so the storage and lack of ease of transport. They do sell container tins, but as they were both samples, I didn't go to purchase.  This time, the product was very different, they were fragrance rollers ! Following on from Part 1 , here's the rest of my review from my boudoir photoshoot experience .  After taking about an hour to do my makeup and hair, I then had to wait about 15 minutes before being invited upstairs for the photoshoot. I was introduced to two photographers, who selected 2 out of the 4 outfits I brought with me. From there, I got changed and headed back downstairs to my first setting. They provided a fluffy robe to wear for transfer. I was shocked when I arrived to such a bright and white location. I took some photos on the bed, in the bath, on the sofa, standing and sitting in front of the dressing table.  I defintely felt a little awkward at first, because I didn't really know what to do or where to look. I also felt very vulnerable and exposed, but the photographers were really reassuring and kept complimenting me. I went to see Hairspray the Musical last year when it was on it's UK Tour in Nottingham. I'm a little late in sharing my review as I had all my USA and Canada 2024 travel posts to share, but it's still on tour until the end of April 2025 so if you're interested, have a look at some of the dates here . They still include Scotland, Ireland and England locations.  The story follows teenage Tracy Turnblad's dream to dance on The Corny Collins Show, a local TV dance program. When Tracy wins a role on the show, she becomes a celebrity overnight, leading to social change as Tracy campaigns for the show's integration. The songs include 1960s-style dance music and "downtown" rhythm and blues.  I love that the casting was diverse. Whilst, yes that is the story, I'm glad they stay true to that and didn't pick celebrities or different cultures. I always loved the idea of doing a boudoir photoshoot, mainly for my own self-love but I'd originally planned to make and create a book to give to my groom on our wedding day as a present. Unfortunately, when we broke up, I knew that wasn't going to be the case, so instead I decided to do it for my 30th birthday...or at least that was the plan. Last summer, I seemingly entered a competition to win one and I apparently won. The company said they'd been trying to reach me for months, so when they finally got in touch in December, I decided to get it booked in as soon as possible so I didn't loose the courage in the build up.
