Degusta: May Box (Review)

Image
As I shared my  April  Degusta box, I thought I would also go ahead and share my May edition. I usually cancel the cheaper or free trial after the first box with many subscriptions, however this is one that I love. This subscription box contains a complete surprise selection of 10 - 15 new products with a different theme each month. This month was so much fun, with a barbeque themed style, perfect for the warmer weather.  As with the last, the box came well packaged, in bubble wrap and recycled paper. The products don't need to be refrigerated therefore it's a contactless delivery if you set that as a delivery preference. I have mine delivered to my doorstep. Inside were a few different offers, many of which the companies I have or do already use, plus the information leaflet explaining and describing each product included.  As I mentioned, this was a summer barbeque themed box and it was so perfect. There was a couple of drinks with both red wine and a tropical lemonade. The l

Heartbreaking American Abortion Laws

Image
By now, I am sure most people have heard the heartbreaking news about the American abortion laws that have been recently changed. The US Supreme Court's overturned the constitutional right to abortion in the country, through the Rose v Wade case which was the 1973 landmark ruling that protected the right to an abortion, and their has been outcry since. Shockingly, within hours of it being passed, many states have already banned abortions, some for ANY reason.  Whilst I think everyone is entitled to their own opinion on the matter, I strongly believe each person should be able to make their own decision about their future. I personally don't think I would ever be able to get an abortion, but I have never been in a difficult position which has forced me to make that decision. One of my biggest fears is not being able to have children, therefore if I did have an abortion and then struggled to conceive afterwards, I would never forgive myself. However, there are many reasons people

Turning 26, Segway Adventure and Off-road Driving!

I headed to Wakefield for my cousin's birthday, celebrated my own birthday and enjoyed a couple of experience activities!  Click here for the vlog or watch below.  I once again started the vlog in Wakefield. It's my last trip North for the next 6 weeks, so it's just been a busy few weeks. I went up for my cousin's birthday, so after a study day, I drove up to Wakefield and quickly got changed before we headed to Capri for an Italian.  I had a chilled couple of days, enjoying the puppies and lots of television.  I then went to work for a couple of days but luckily had a sunny Saturday off work, so we had a little barbeque at home. I had initially expected a few people to be coming but Luke left it too much last minute and so because of that, we had a fair amount left over for both tea and the next day.  As I've been so busy, I've not had a whole lot of free time in Nottingham per se, so I met Emma and her dog Singa for lunch at the pub. I had thought we were also

Seasonal Table Decor

Image
I love decorating and celebrating each and every holiday in it's own way. As I'm currently in a rental, I haven't got much storage space, so instead of going all out around the house, I have found myself creating a little centrepiece on the dining room table. I have a light up sign, so I switch up the text to match the season, and then add a few extra decorations.  I thought I would start with the holidays in date order throughout the year. Valentine's Day is one that not many celebrate. I used to have some pink hearts and bunting, however because this is in my lounge, I wanted it to match the navy and ochre colour scheme so I went with some beautiful wire hearts from In Other Words Designs and a balloon blow up word.  I think Easter is one of my favourites. I love these little wooden bunnies that I bought from Amazon, and then I paired it with a burlap bunting .  Of course, this year called for a new holiday celebration for the Platinum Jubilee. I didn't want to

26th Birthday Present Haul!

Image
I really wasn't expecting many presents this year, if any at all. I knew both my parents were getting me a joint birthday and house warming present as I'd asked them to wait until I know exactly what I needed. I also knew that my partner had said that him paying for the Amsterdam hotel was my present, so I was quite surprised that I actually had some gifts to open which was a lovely surprise.  I got a few bits of chocolate, with some Dairy Milk Caramel and then some locally produced specialty chocolate. The caramel and Mars bar one was delicious, but the mint and Aero one tasted a little like toothpaste.  I got a few bathroom toiletry items. I use the Clinique Anti-Blemish Foaming Cleanser regularly, hair oil and a foot brush.  I got a new book from one of my friends and a diffuser from my partner. I think I'll save these until I am in the new house! I also got a beautiful new Joma Jewellery bracelet to add to my collection.  When I went to Oxford, my sister gave me her pre

Celebrating 26 Years

Image
First of all, I can't quite believe that I celebrated by 26th birthday last Thursday. This last year has been a little bit of a whirlwind, especially with how busy the last few months have been. I think this 26th year of my life is going to be all about some big life changes - probably the most expensive of my life - but also about settling down. I finally feel at peace with my life and my world. I'm so ready for the next steps.  Last year, I celebrated in a big way and my family went all out to surprise me with a limo . I also shared some facts so if you want to get to know me a little better, read these . This year was a more low key and after a short day at work, doing part of the leadership course, we enjoyed a beautiful night in. Friday morning, was more of the celebration, which I will share in a vlog soon! I'm now just heading back from Oxford, celebrating my cousin's hen party.  Be ready for some more fun posts and content over the next few weeks. What do you wa

Early Birthday, Jubilee Celebrations and Rescuing Goslings!

Image
With a hen party during my birthday weekend, I celebrated with family a little early. I also had a friend come to stay for the weekend!  Click here to watch the vlog or see below.  With my cousin having her hen party during my birthday weekend, and my other cousin last minute having a birthday party the weekend before, I ended up coming back a few weekends prior to celebrate my birthday a little early with close family. Of course, the majority of the time I tried to relax and chill more than anything, but I did get in plenty of little dog cuddles.  We did go for a few dog walks, including Newmiller Dam, which is my favourite place to go. We went for some food first which the dogs didn't totally enjo, and sadly for some reason they had finished doing the toasties, so we got some sandwiches/salads and cake instead.  The next day, we had a girly day out in Leeds. We did a little bit of shopping and had a lovely lunch at The Ivy which was delicious. They even brought me out a little pr
