Turning 26, Segway Adventure and Off-road Driving!

I headed to Wakefield for my cousin's birthday, celebrated my own birthday and enjoyed a couple of experience activities!

I once again started the vlog in Wakefield. It's my last trip North for the next 6 weeks, so it's just been a busy few weeks. I went up for my cousin's birthday, so after a study day, I drove up to Wakefield and quickly got changed before we headed to Capri for an Italian.
I had a chilled couple of days, enjoying the puppies and lots of television.
I then went to work for a couple of days but luckily had a sunny Saturday off work, so we had a little barbeque at home. I had initially expected a few people to be coming but Luke left it too much last minute and so because of that, we had a fair amount left over for both tea and the next day.
As I've been so busy, I've not had a whole lot of free time in Nottingham per se, so I met Emma and her dog Singa for lunch at the pub. I had thought we were also going for a walk around Wollaton but she ended up having to rush back a little bit to make a few phone calls ready for the wedding. It's crazy how much they have left to do!
My birthday celebrations started with a study day at work, as part of the RCN's Nightingale Leadership Fellowship. The sessions was based on Quality, Service Improvement and Redesign (QSIR), which I always thought to be more related to change projects within the NHS, however it actually gives some great tools and lessons to apply to any research projects.
When I got back home, it was nice to be able to spend some time relaxing and opening presents. I had hoped Luke would be at home waiting for me, but he wasn't, even though he had the entire day off work. He wasn't there and he hadn't decorated so I was a little sad, and tried to cheer myself up by opening up some presents and cards.

He did eventually arrive, with some terrible homemade cupcakes, but we popped in a candle and sang happy birthday. The best part was when my niece and nephew sent the cutest video singing happy birthday too. So of course, I had to record a video blowing out candles again. Then we ordered a Dominoes takeaway and it was truly delicious. I haven't had one since moving into the house so it had been a long while!
Luke had also booked the next day off work, so we ended up booking the two experience days that I got from my sister's from Christmas. We started with McDonald's breakfast, then went on a Segway Blast experience and finished with a 4 x 4 Blindfolded Driving Experience. I'll be sharing an in depth review of both of them over the next 2 weeks.

Stay tuned to the next vlog to see the rest of my birthday week.
