Why GLP-1 Patches vs Medication?

Image
Last week I talked about GLP-1 , how it works and specifically GLP-1 Kind Patches, but why did I pick patches instead of medication? When researching, I came across GLP-1 patches and I thought they sounded great. After consistently struggling with my weight for a long time, I've been very much considering taking medication, for the last year, to help with weight loss. I've heard and seen such great things with injectables, like Ozempic, but I've also seen some horrifying effects as well. Alongside this, there is a number of other reasons why I didn't jump straight on. There is the simple fact that there is a shortage of the medication, and knowing that it is needed for diabetics as life saving treatment, I struggled to be able to know I was taking that away from them. It is also incredibly expensive at over £150 a month for the supply required, and of course it's an invasive injection you have to administer yourself. Likewise, both pills and Ozempic have other unkno...

What are GLP-1 Patches?

Image
The past few weeks I've been talking about my current health  and my hope for getting fitter . I have really struggled with my weight my entire life, but especially over recent years with the mix of depression and heartbreak, on top of illness. I've been very much considering taking medication to help with weight loss, but it's been something that I've had to consider carefully.  When researching, I came across GLP-1 patches and after looking into them and speaking to a couple of doctors, I decided to go ahead and place the order. I will be sharing my journey using the patches, but I thought it would be worth to share exactly what they are and how they work first. I've specifically chosen to buy Kind Patches and so I'm sure that there are some differences between different products.  GLP-1 patches are transdermal patches to help achieve healthy weight loss whilst maintaining muscle. They are designed to increase your GLP-1 levels which is colloquially knowns as ...

Donating my Hair to The Little Princess Trust

Image
For the third time, I am donating my hair to The Little Princess Trust after another major haircut . My goal has been to donate every 3 years, but this time has gone a little longer as instead of 10" they asked for at least 12" and I ended up donating 13".  The Little Princess Trust provides free real hair wigs to children and young people, up to 24 years, who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or other conditions. They have now provided more than 17,000 wigs to children and young people with hair loss and are celebrating their 20th anniversary this year! They also fund childhood cancer research searching to find kinder and more effective treatments. They used to provide free postage for hair, but now they do charge and also ask for a financial donation to help support the making of wigs too.  They can accept hair of any natural colour as long as it is in a good condition. It can be permanently dyed, but must be of a nature shade. Before cutting, make sure...

Mini Valentine’s Day Decor 2025

Image
Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!  I decorated for Valentine’s Day a couple of weeks ago and thought I’d share some of the little touches I put up around the house. The main area is in the living room, with my light up quote sign, heart banners, love sign and twig tree. I popped the heart banners over the mirror, the fireplace and the fire, as well as the picture frames around the walls as well. The twig tree is slowly becoming a seasonal must-have. For Valentine’s, I have some felt fabric hearts.  In the entryway hallway, I have a rattan LOVE banner, as well as some extra hearts.  Hope everyone has a happy, loved filled day always.

On That Ass: Women's Underwear (Review)

Image
Another week, another subscription review, this time On that Ass. I've again, previously purchased On that Ass, but only the men's boxers , underwear and socks , both of which I love. This time, I purchased their relatively new women's underwear bundle. I bought the free starter bundle with both a bralette and briefs matching set.  Once subscribed, it's £12.99 per month for a pair of briefs. Then every 3 months, you'll also receive a matching bralette as a gift. They say that all items within a season complement each other perfectly, but mixing and matching different styles is also an option.  As usual, the packaging comes in waterproof, recyclable material that fits through the letterbox so you don't need to be present for delivery. I was surprised they arrived separately and not in one package, which was a little disappointing, but in fairness it could be because of the different sizes required every 3 months. The packaging also matches the colour and design ...

Another Major Haircut and a Fail

Image
This is now the third time I have cut my hair quite dramatically and donated it. The first time I had it cut to my shoulders and the second time to slightly above. Both times, I donated 10". This time when I started to get the paperwork together to donate my hair, they wanted at least 12" ideally so instead of cutting it last year, after all the weddings, I decided to wait until the new year to get it a little longer, so it was about 3 and a half years this time.  I went in with the goal to get my hair shoulder length. I have found a hairdressers here in Nottingham that I love, but with the donation, I could get a free haircut, so I booked with another hairdressers instead. But then I was actually reminded of a competition I won for a free haircut with an old colleague of mine so after I conversation, I booked in there.  It was an interesting experience. I always love the pictures she takes of her clients hair and it always looks incredible so I had every faith. When I arrive...

My 2025 Health Update

Image
After a year of really poor mental health in 2023 and then a year of really poor physical health in 2024, I honestly didn't know how this year would go. Well, now over a month into the year, I thought I would share a little update.  I did a number of posts on my mental health in 2023. I shared my lowest points and my journey through my struggles. From suicidal ideation and self-harming, I started a series of different treatments, with anti-depressants , counselling , CBT , talking therapies and self-help methods . I was on medication from February 2023 to September 2023, then discharged completely from psychiatric services in October 2023 after " significant improvements ".  Now in 2025, I still wouldn't say I'm happy but I'm happier than I have been for the last two starts to the year. I still wish more than anything I could go back to 2022 and change my life, realise how lucky I was and how good I had it. The grass is always greener on the other side, righ...

Gruum: Fragrance Rollers (Review)

Image
I've used Gruum a few times over the years and usually it's a free product or sample through another purchase. This time was no different, but bar far my favourite product to date! Gruum is inspired by the Scandinavian principles of design and functionality, yet based in the UK. They sell skin, hair and, self care products that are kind to both the environment and you.  I've previously used their cleanser and shampoo and conditioner bars. I personally don't love these, but not because of the products themselves, because I find the products generally okay, although they do take some time to get used to. It's more so the storage and lack of ease of transport. They do sell container tins, but as they were both samples, I didn't go to purchase.  This time, the product was very different, they were fragrance rollers ! When I've looked online, I can only see them available as a 12 month purchase so you get one for each month, rather than one for each season, which...

My Boudoir Photoshoot Experience - Part 2 (Review)

Image
Following on from Part 1 , here's the rest of my review from my boudoir photoshoot experience .  After taking about an hour to do my makeup and hair, I then had to wait about 15 minutes before being invited upstairs for the photoshoot. I was introduced to two photographers, who selected 2 out of the 4 outfits I brought with me. From there, I got changed and headed back downstairs to my first setting. They provided a fluffy robe to wear for transfer. I was shocked when I arrived to such a bright and white location. I took some photos on the bed, in the bath, on the sofa, standing and sitting in front of the dressing table.  I defintely felt a little awkward at first, because I didn't really know what to do or where to look. I also felt very vulnerable and exposed, but the photographers were really reassuring and kept complimenting me. They were very directive so each pose they would ask me to get into, they would specifically tell me where to put each hand, foot, direction to f...
