Wollaton Park, Organising Interior and Stackers Unboxing!

Image
In between assessment writing, I needed some small breaks and so met my cousin for a couple of walks, whilst also taking some breaks to organise and decorate the house, which somewhat feels never-ending at present.  Click here to watch the vlog or see below.  I've spent the majority of the last 2 weeks of days off working on my second masters assignment. It's a big presentation but online so I've had to work on a script with references and evidence, whilst also creating an aesthetically pleasing presentation.  I did meet up with my cousin and her family a couple of times which was actually lovely. We went on a walk around Wollaton Park which was lovely. The first week, the weather was absolutely beautiful. I spent the whole day chilling with them and it was perfect. We went first to the cafe at the park where my cousin had breakfast and I had a brownie. Then we went for a long walk, calling at the pub for lunch on the way back, and then I stayed at her house for a few hours

Redoing my Storage Cupboards!

Image
I'm taking a little break from the utility room renovation posts as unfortunately, once again things have come to a little bit of a stand still. It is so almost finished but the next stages can't happen until the 5th June so it's another 6 weeks or so until it will be finally finished. I'm just so ready for it to be done. In the meantime, I've been getting a few other little jobs done around the house. As I posted last week, I added some new artwork , and this week I'm sharing all about the storage cupboards.  I am so lucky that in this house, I have a huge amount of storage space. So much that the majority isn't actually in use just yet. I have quite a few little bits to bring over from the farm still. I try to bring a few bits back whenever I travel back and forth. The main storage spaces are in the form of 2 big cupboards. One is a linen closet in the upstairs hallway and another in the study, above the stairs.  I wish I had taken a before picture of the

Bloom & Wild: April 2023 (Review)

Image
I am obsessed with this Christmas present that keeps giving. My dad is an avid gardener and he noticed these for the first time and even her was quite impressed. This month, I got the "Our Florist's Pick" bouquet.  The bouquet changes each month and is especially designed by Bloom & Wild's unique florists for a limited-edition bouquets. Especially for springtime, this one is filled with ombre orange tulips and the brightest roses. It doesn't get more seasonal. There are 20 stems including roses, september, freesias, bupleurum and tulips. Unlike their other bouquet's and my previous orders, I was a little disappointed with the longevity of this bouquet so I have now replaced the tulips with some £2 store bought additions. They did state that rpring bloomers such as tulips, hyacinths or daffodils naturally have a slightly shorter lifespan and therefore bloom for around 5 days, so it was somewhat expected, but nevertheless not quite as nice having them for le

Mental Health Update: Self-Harm, Medication and Counselling

Image
In December , I finally reached out for mental health support, realising I was starting to get to breaking point. I knew I couldn't keep going any longer and instead of getting better, it only seemed to be getting worse.  After Christmas and a very difficult family Boxing Day, I decided I needed to take action now and it could no longer wait. I've never got along with my mother's husband, and he treats me so poorly. He made a bunch of comments directed at me and whilst everyone else would excuse the cruelty due to being drunk, I don't think that should be used as an excuse. I will never allow drugs to be used as an excuse for actions, and if it causes actions that harm others, then that is a reason to stop using.  January was my lowest month. I would sob throughout the day constantly. I had very little motivation for anything. I was emotionally and mentally drained, physically exhausted without doing anything. I wasn't sleeping for more than a couple hours at a time

Celebrating Easter, Mum's 60th and Storage Cupboards!

Image
After taking a little bit of a break from picking up the camera, some days off and annual leave allowed me to feel comfortable making plans and staying busy.  Click here to watch the vlog or see below.  I actually decorated for Easter super early this year. I decorated just after getting back from Jamaica and I loved having all the little touches up. I actually shared a full post with all the details so be sure to see it here .  After having a bit of a down week, I started talking to an old high school friend again which was actually really nice and making plans. I decided to have a bit of a pamper day for my "would be" anniversary, which was a nice distraction. Sadly, the Lush bath bomb has massively stained my bath so I'm still slowly working on trying to get that sorted. Wish me luck!  I finally managed to organise a meet up with Sam, one of my old housemates. It was absolutely lovely to see her and catch up. We went out to one of her favourite cafes, called Fox Cafe a
