I'm Sick and a Vlog Take Over!

Image
I woke up after a terrible night's sleep and headed to my first Midwifery OSCE. I almost fainted on the walk back so headed to lie down. The girls decided they wanted to do a vlog takeover so welcome to Sam and Vicki's vlog. After a 5 hour nap, I did feel a little better so I headed to the cinema before meeting them back at the flat. Click here to watch the vlog or see below.  Like I said, I woke up feeling terrible. I'd gone to bed early but all night long my flatmates had been banging the doors and making a heck of a lot of noise. By the time it got quiet, I had the worst headache and stomach ache so I was just tossing and turning all night. I woke up feeling even worse but I had to get out of the house because it was the Year 1 Midwifery OSCE. I'm going to write up all about it on Thursday so stay tuned for that but I honestly thought I was going to faint a few times on the solo walk back home. As soon as I got in, I went to lie down in my room and lets f

Dreamboys at Pryzm, Nottingham (Review)

Image
Where to start. What was meant to be the most perfect, fun and exhilarating experience for my 22nd birthday present ended up being anything but. On entry to Pryzm, the location for the night, we were greeted warmly by staff and by one of the Dreamboys themselves waiting in the entrance. As we were escorted down to the seating area, we were each given a small cocktail. And when I say small, I mean a few sips worth. The seating was interesting. The front rows were in a U shape around the slightly raised stage and then the back rows were in two columns with an aisle. It seemed like it was going to be good but unfortunately the back rows weren’t raised and the stage was very low so throughout the show, it was very difficult to see. This was made even worse by the fact that for the majority of the dance, the audience was forced to stand the entire time. Now perhaps if you were tall, it wouldn’t be such a big issue. But for those of you like me, you’ll appreciate but how annoying it c

Pretty Little Liars: A History

Image
If you follow me on Twitter  at all, you will have noticed that in August last year, the majority of my free time was spent watching Pretty Little Liars. I waited and waited to watch the whole series after being enticed in after season 5. Instead of watching the seasons that had been released, I decided to wait until the show finished to start and oh. my. gosh. Yes!  I absolutely loved it and while I never posted a review of the show as planned, I've had this post sitting in my drafts for almost a year so I thought it was about time I finished it and shared it.  I loved the whole idea behind the show and while I do think it's very similar to Gossip Girl in a way, I love the changes throughout and how each season is completely different.  One of the things I loved, and perhaps this was made more obvious because I watched the show in such a fast way, was that each of the characters showed such a gracious evolution and each of them became better people. Not only did t

Botanicals: Fresh Care (Review)

Image
I got sent a couple of samples of the new Botanicals: Fresh Care hair range. I was pleasantly surprised when I received the sachet's because I actually hadn't been contacted to do any sort of review but I thought I might as well share a few of my thoughts. Immediately upon tearing open the sachet I loved the smell of the product. It was very sweet and created a lovely aroma. It managed to stay in my hair for a number of days after the fact, which was perfect. The shampoo lathered up which I loved and the conditioner made my hair silky smooth and easy to brush out. A quite quick post today but as I only got 2 uses out of the product, I don't know the effects of long term use! Due to this, my hair didn't quite get used to the product so did need washing slightly more regularly, only lasting 2 days. Have you tried this range? What did you think?

Dreamboys, Birthdays and Group Work Drama!

Image
One of my birthday presents was a ticket to see the Dreamboys so we booked it and made it out! I also took the girls to the casino for their first AND second times, we celebrated a birthday and we went to the cinema. Click here to watch the vlog or see below.  As I've already said, one of my 22nd birthday presents was a ticket to see the Dreamboys. I'd been going on about how excited I was for Magic Mike LIVE to finally be in the UK and they thought Dreamboys would be a little taste of the real deal to come. I'm going to share more about the experience on Friday but lets just say it wasn't the best experience. Afterwards, we headed for some drinks at Turtle Bay and then I took the girls for their first casino experience. I came out doubling my winnings after just a short half an hour and I think they actually really enjoyed it, despite the disappointment from the night.  I headed home a little early because I didn't want to go to the club afterward

The Bloscars (Part 1)!

Image
I have never heard of The Bloscars before but when I was reading through some old posts of a fellow blogger, I came across a new TAG that she invented and I loved it! Emma from This Is Emma's World created a kind of an awards ceremony with a difference. For each category you simply pick a blog post and talk about it. I'm so excited to look back through some of posts and perhaps give new readers a little insight into me! Favourite Post Winner:  Jet Skiing with Dolphins (Miami 2017) Let's be honest, I absolutely loved all my Miami posts! I literally had the most amazing, action packed few days ever with one of my closest friends and I loved every second. The reason I pick this day out of all of them is because it was my first time on a jet ski and I thought it was absolutely amazing, but to swim and ride next to wild dolphins was surreal. It was a completely crazy moment, day and trip! Hardest Post To Write Winner:  The End of a Dream (Medicine) Without a doubt,

The Perfume Studio - Create your Own Perfume

Image
Just a short post today because I'm literally running out of the flat for a last celebration before moving out tomorrow. Stay tuned for an update soon! I'm really aiming to write some posts up in advance because this week has been crazy stressful.  This last time last year, I was invited to one of my first blogger events with PrezzyBox . I had such an amazing time and I always promised I would write up all the different activities. I never really got around to it but I thought now was the perfect time.  The Perfume Studio is an incredible company that provides a service to allow guests to create their own bespoke fragrance in an easy and fun manner. We each got to smell a wide selection of fragrances with an experienced stylist. You can select up to 3 scents with each providing a different depth to the smell.  I'm very set in my ways and love citrus scents so I ended up being very unique - apparently - and just chose one smell which was very refreshing and lemo

Read Between the Lines by Jenelle Evans

Image
Since the launch of 16 and Pregnant, 10 years ago now, I've watched the whole franchise from all the Teen Mom series and the UK version. Back in 2015, I spent my Egypt holiday reading many of the Teen Mom books and I remember starting Jenelle's on the flight home but then I put it in a box and just haven't picked it up since. Well, 3 years later I finally finished the book so I thought I would share a quick review to finish off the series.  So that simple fact might actually tell you something about the book in general. It's quite slow, a little boring and not a must-read by any sense of the phrase.  Let's start with the positives. I really liked that the book has snippets of real life entries into Jenelle's secret diaries. I don't know how many have been missed out but it does seem as they are whole (with names removed) and I like that it's in handwriting. Despite the terrible spelling and grammar, it's interesting to see the progress in Je

2 Quick and Easy Ways to Earn Money Online!

Image
I think as an adult, budgeting is one of the biggest and most important steps of growing up. Unfortunately, most college's don't prepare students for that so it's down to parents and individuals themselves. I've never gone crazy with money. Looking back, I've experience two extremes, on one hand I grew up with a father who was a doctor. As a young child, I never thought about money. It wasn't until my parents got divorced that money became an issue and in no way am I saying I was ever broke. Far from it. I am very lucky in that I've always had a roof over my head and food and warmth and everything I ever needed in life. But my mum had to be careful and so have I. I've always liked to do nice things but with that, I've made sacrifices elsewhere and I really am very careful with my money. I've shared some tips in the past about budgeting  but today I thought I'd share just a couple of communities I've absolutely loved utilising over the

The 100 - Season 5 (Review)

Image
With an incredible fourth season and a jaw-dropping season finale, I can't even begin to tell you how excited I was for this season. This season was one of the most interesting for me. It was a difficult one for many of the cast members but still one of great potential and growth. While Octavia showed strength and courage, Dr Abby Griffin showed weakness and a disappointing lack of stamina. I love that Octavia took all the decisions she made on her own head, while Abby just stood by and watch everyone else take the blame for her mistakes. This change in demeanour is refreshing but I was definitely disappointed in Abby. Of course having said that, it did open up the way for The 100 to explore a sensitive topic and they did so beautiful. With the arrival of a brand new group, there was sure to be major drama when the groups united and like in The 100 style, the leader of the group was once again female. I think the show has always been at the forefront of change and I love
