I'm Sick and a Vlog Take Over!
I woke up after a terrible night's sleep and headed to my first Midwifery OSCE. I almost fainted on the walk back so headed to lie down. The girls decided they wanted to do a vlog takeover so welcome to Sam and Vicki's vlog. After a 5 hour nap, I did feel a little better so I headed to the cinema before meeting them back at the flat.

Like I said, I woke up feeling terrible. I'd gone to bed early but all night long my flatmates had been banging the doors and making a heck of a lot of noise. By the time it got quiet, I had the worst headache and stomach ache so I was just tossing and turning all night. I woke up feeling even worse but I had to get out of the house because it was the Year 1 Midwifery OSCE. I'm going to write up all about it on Thursday so stay tuned for that but I honestly thought I was going to faint a few times on the solo walk back home.
As soon as I got in, I went to lie down in my room and lets face it, I felt sorry for myself. I rested and had an almost 5 hour nap before forcing myself out of the house for a walk and the cinema to see Ant-Man and the Wasp.
Meanwhile, everyone headed off for the weekend and after a quick snack at home, Vicki and Sam decided to make the most of the lovely weather by driving from Nottingham to Matlock. Matlock is in the Derbyshire Dales and is a great place to go for a little day trip because it is such a quaint, sweet little town. If you didn't already know, one of my flatmates, Sam, also loves YouTube so she decided to do a guest vlog for the day!
First, they browsed around the shops and Sam bought some gorgeous trousers from a shop called Inspired Earth where all the items are ethically hand made by artisans in India and Nepal, through recycling fabric. The shop was inside an old cave which was really cute.
They then had cake outside from a little bakery called Butter Fingers, where all the cakes are handmade daily on site and they both had a salted caramel slice which were delicious.
Finally, they wandered over to the river and sat in a beautiful botanical garden. There was a local fruit and vegetable market in town so they bought some fruit and as you can see from the video, Sam was very excited. She bought a huge mango which in her own words "I was very pleased with as I love a ripe, juicy mango".
Oh she makes me laugh. Apparently all day long, Vicki was being jokey and Sam wanted it to be super serious! So a slightly different take on the vlog this week but I hope you enjoyed it. Seeing life from a different perspective was so much fun and I defintely enjoyed putting all the clips together while editing.
When I got back from the cinema, the girls were already back home and they surprised me with a cookie. It was actually really yummy and I was super thankful! I look really sceptical in the vlog but honestly it's because they said they were getting me a souvenir so I couldn't decide if it was edible or not!
