Egypt 2015!

Image
I have just not had the time to write up a daily post for each of the days I was in Egypt but in reality, I really don't need to. For the first time ever, I vlogged every single day (for a week), and so you can literally see what I did while I was there. I had so much fun. Click here to subscribe to my channel or here to see the Egypt 2015 playlist . Here are the thumbnails from each video so click on them to be taken directly through to the daily vlog.

5 Ingredient Spaghetti Carbonara!

Image
I like quick and easy recipes so here is one of my favourites! Ingredients: Spaghetti or Pasta Double cream (around 40ml) Parmesan (4 heaped teaspoons plus more for topping) Bacon (3 pieces) Egg Olive oil Salt and pepper Method: Put the pasta on with a splash of oil.  Put the bacon on. I don't cook with any oil just for a little healthier recipe.  In a bowl whisk the egg, cream and parmesan. Then stir in the salt and pepper. I like mine quite creamy and not very cheesy so it depends on how you like it; play around with the quantities.  When the bacon is nearly cooked, cut it into bite-sized pieces. When the pasta is al-dente, drain the pasta and then put it back in the pan and add the creamy mixture and bacon.  Place back on the heat for 2 minutes, stirring continuously otherwise the eggs will scramble.  Eat and enjoy!

Pixels (Review)

Go see the daily blog post of when I went to see it  here  :) Adam Sandler leads the fightback against arcade game alien invaders in this imaginative sci-fi comedy! The US president (Kevin James) faces his gravest crisis when aliens take the form of characters from old computer games to attack the Earth. So he calls in his childhood friend and '80s arcade game champ (Adam Sandler) to help defeat the Space Invaders! I thought the movie was really good, just as I expected it to be from the trailer. The friends I went with were unimpressed by the trailer but surprisingly enjoyed the movie. It started off when the main characters were young and were at a competition. It saw friendships formed and enemies fought and then went 20 years into the future to see where they all were. The surprise was that one of them was the president! When aliens misinterpret the message sent years earlier, he invites his childhood friends into serious meetings, to which they constantly made jokes at

How To: Clothespin Photo Banner

Image
I've been wanting to print out my Instagram pictures for a really long time but I've never gotten around to it. It's taken a while but I've finally found an idea I love and it's so super easy so I hope you can follow along! What You Need: NB: Click on the photos for links on where to purchase the items needed! String or Ribbon Amazon £2.49 Wooden Clothespin: I chose mini ones Amazon £4.87 Pictures:  I did a lot of research and looking around for the best price, with good reviews and high quality for printing these photos. I found PhotoBox For 90 photos it was £10 including delivery. I have also ordered 151 photos for my photo album, for £12.50. For the past 2 years, I have created a photo album for each year but I have been printing them at my dads. PhotoBox is cheaper and easier as they deliver straight to your door. I can't wait for them all to be delivered. They come in a really nice little box so it's nice to keep leftover photos in

Fantastic Four at the Cinema!

Image
I went to see the new 'Fantastic Four' movie at the movie. I was a little unsure on what to expect from the movie. I feel like the last Fantastic Four movie and it's sequel, with Jessica Alba, was only released a short while ago. I don't really understand why they needed to make an updated version so early. The movie was surprisingly short. It was a good movie and the graphics and special effects were impressive. It was a very similar story to the previous version. There were still 4 people with the exact same powers: fire, invisibility, rock-man and stretchiness. But what was different was how they developed their powers. It was through a child and a science experiment and then watching him grow up and develop his idea, to be selected into a government programme... It was probably a rather pessimistic interpretation on how the world will have to find energy resources in the not too distance. I hope that wasn't too many spoilers. To be honest, the majority of

Clothing (and Technology) Haul

As I said in yesterday's blog, I picked up a few items while shopping. Next The material of these 2 tops is so soft, stretchy and loose. I fell in love with both tops when I saw them so had to buy them.  Pineapple Top - £16 Size 12 Tie Dye Top - £16 Size 8 Unfortunately, they didn't have my size but I loved it so much and because the tops are baggy, the 8 just fit!I honestly love it so much I've ordered it online in the 2 other colours: pink and purple! Dorothy Perkins Shockingly, my favourite store didn't have any clothes that I loved but I did pick up yet another pair of my flip-flops. I think I officially have them in all the colours. My Favourite Chips!

Image
Since high school, I fell in love with this simple, easy and health-ier alternative to shop bought chips. Ingredients: - Potatoes - Paprika - Oil - Salt and Pepper Method: Cut up the potatoes. I like to live the peel/skin on but you can take that off; I just find it quite tedious and it's not needed. I cut mine in to small bite size and thin chunks.  In a bowl mix the oil (I prefer olive), a sprinkle of salt and pepper and (quite a bit!) of paprika. The actual amounts vary depending on your preference so trial and error.  The messy part: Coat the potato pieces in the mixture making sure to coat all sides.  Tap off excess and lay carefully on a baking tray. Place in the oven at around 180 degrees in a fan-oven for around 20 minutes - less if you like them al-dente.  Turn them over halfway through and I like to sprinkle on some more paprika! Eat and enjoy. Simple and easy.

Late Presents!

Image
I actually kind of like it when I get birthday presents a little (2 months) late. It means that your birthday just keeps going on and on :) So thank you to Hannah for all these presents. They are so incredibly thoughtful and I love them all!  A mug for my green juices. It's so cute and beautiful.  A bracelet with my birth stone, although not the colour. It's simple and elegant which is definitely the look I tend to lean towards. A lush product. I'm not too sure what it's for yet or what it is, but I shall find out next time I have a bath! Finally, a 'Toasted Marshmallow' candle from Jelly Belly and I'm not sure I'll ever be able to use it...it smells divine as soon as I open it and makes me so hungry! Oh my... So thank you so much Hannah for your touching and thoughtful presents and I love the cars. It took me a while to read but I really appreciate it. I'll see you again soon!
