What are GLP-1 Patches?

The past few weeks I've been talking about my current health and my hope for getting fitter. I have really struggled with my weight my entire life, but especially over recent years with the mix of depression and heartbreak, on top of illness. I've been very much considering taking medication to help with weight loss, but it's been something that I've had to consider carefully.

When researching, I came across GLP-1 patches and after looking into them and speaking to a couple of doctors, I decided to go ahead and place the order. I will be sharing my journey using the patches, but I thought it would be worth to share exactly what they are and how they work first. I've specifically chosen to buy Kind Patches and so I'm sure that there are some differences between different products.

GLP-1 patches are transdermal patches to help achieve healthy weight loss whilst maintaining muscle. They are designed to increase your GLP-1 levels which is colloquially knowns as the "un-hunger hormone." GLP-1 is released and enters the bloodstream to signal to the pancreas to release insulin, which helps manage appetite and food processing. It acts on the brain's hunger centres and slows the emptying of food from the stomach into the small intestine, which keeps blood sugar levels stable after meals.

The patches focus on appetite control to ensure you feel full longer, stabilise blood sugar levels, and curb cravings, with a powerful blend of key ingredients:
  • Extracts optimise metabolic health by supporting balanced blood sugar levels and reducing sugar cravings, e.g. berberine aids in regulating glucose, pomegranate extract adds antioxidant benefits to protect cells and cinnamon extract enhances insulin sensitivity for improved energy balance.
  • Vitamin B boosts metabolism, helping efficient food conversion into fuel, and reducing fatigue. By keeping energy levels steady, it supports an active lifestyle and promotes healthier weight.
  • L-Glutamine supports muscle recovery and preservation, ensuring fat burning.
  • Chromium helps regulate glucose metabolism and controls appetite, making it easier to resist cravings and maintain consistent energy levels.

It is definitely not a quick fix and it still requires exercise and healthy eating to help support weight loss, but it can change the signalling pathways and therefore support. The goals is at 1 month, to have reduced hunger, wanting smaller portions and less snacks. By 2 months, the body will start to become more sensitive to GLP-1. By 3 months, body weight, visceral fat and hip and waist circumference should be visibly reduced. Stay tuned to follow my journey and hear my thoughts.
