Found Santa Monica - Los Angeles Hotel (Review)

My final hotel of the trip was the stunningly, modern and pristine Found Hotel in Santa Monica. I was shocked when checking in that I was given access to a website. The website gave me 24/7 service to their free chat, ordering room service, problems to be escalated, to book further items, WiFi access and most importantly, the code to get into your keyless room which I thought was very clever.

The room was lovely. Again, I had 2 Queen sized beds, a lovely fresh new carpet and small wardrobe. There was a shared side table and desk as well, but somewhat sadly, no chest of drawers. Given that it was my shortest stay in a city, I didn't mind too much and I actually ended up not unpacking fully, just using the second bed to hold my suitcase and items instead.

The bathroom was lovely. I loved the different tile options and the mix and match was the perfect feature. The sink storage area and worktop surface for having everything laid out. The mirror was beautiful and the lighting made doing my makeup a pleasure. The shower could have been improved by being adjustable but that's not uncommon, and it was easily made up by the free full sized shampoo, conditioner and body wash. I forgot to look what brand it was but it felt like such a luxury!

My favourite thing about this hotel was the communal areas. There was free parking which was first come first serve, but someone checked in late one evening and there was still plenty of spaces. There was a lovely bar area but sadly it was closed when I first checked in, otherwise I would have used it myself. The reception was manned by 2 staff members 24/7, there was sofa areas and luggage storage areas. They literally went above and beyond. There was also fresh water fountains and small sofa areas on each floor as well.

The hotel itself is a little further out from both LA, Santa Monica and Universal Studios than I would have preferred, but it was a great price in comparison to places further towards those central areas and much nicer in terms of the property itself. I also felt that it was better positioned to access all the areas but of course ultimately, I ended up taxis or buses to and from all of the areas, rather than just one or two of them.
