Las Vegas Must-Do Attractions (Review)
Las Vegas is a hugely popular tourist destination and whilst it is fun to go and experience what Vegas has to offer for free, with the hotels, Vegas sign, shops and of course the free Bellagio Water Fountains show, there are still some things that are described as "must do" attractions. Now, I don't personally think that you need to do any of these to make your Vegas trip fun, but they defintely are nice to tick off if you have the option.
Cirque du Soleil
I feel like to see a Vegas show is something that just makes the trip from more a cultural and less gambling perspective. There are so many to choose from, but of course Cirque du Soleil is one that is well established in Vegas. I've actually shared a full review of the Cirque du Soleil show I saw which was Mystere.
Big Bus Tour
This was the one thing I was actually recommended to do in Las Vegas. I was told it was really informative and took you the whole length of Vegas without much difficulty. Whilst yes I do think it's good and all the staff were lovely - by far the nicest of all my Big Bus Tour routes - I did find it frustrating that the buses were so infrequent as less than once every half an hour. I also think that whilst I wouldn't have done the old part of Vegas, that the main strip is walkable. The main Welcome to Vegas sign down to the Strat is probably a 2 - 3 hour walk so it's not, not doable.
High Roller
This was one of the things I didn't plan to do but it was included as part of the bundle ticket I bought with the Big Bus Tour so I did end up going. It was great to see the Vegas Strip up close but from the birds eye view. I loved the little history lesson and screens they had inside each bubble. One thing I would recommend, it trying to time it for 5 - 10 minutes before the water fountain show was coming on because I just missed seeing it from the peak and it would have been so good!
The Sphere - From the Outside
This is one of the newest highlights to the Vegas skyline and it does somewhat disappoint in honesty. You could see it from my hotel, as well as from The Strat Observation Deck. I decided to go up close and see it face to face, but because of the F1 GP prep, I had to get really close. I did luckily find a perch on a rock to sit down. There's lots of different screens to see and enjoy, but I was surprised at how many adverts there were, which somewhat spoiled it for me. Also, there were some things I really wanted to see and they never came into the rotation which was a little frustrating too.
Top Golf
This was my first time at Top Golf and it was a lot of fun, but it would have defintely been better if I had been able to play with someone else. I ended up getting it included as part of my Big Bus Tour ticket and had a free 30 minutes play. It was a lot of fun, but the hitting targets part was just not possible for me, because I couldn't reach them! It was still a lot of fun, the staff are very attentive and immediately came straight up to me asking if I wanted any drinks or snacks. One thing to note is that despite being free, they did want to hold a card on the system, which was a little worrying but I didn't get charged for anything so that was good. I would recommend the activity, but more in a group setting.
The Strat Tower
I then walked to The Strat Tower and headed up to the observation decks. It was all a little confusing in terms of the set up but the view was beautiful. Unfortunately, it was a little far away from the strip, but it was a great view of the scenery and nature. They have a number of thrill rides to participate in. I personally didn't, but I got to watch others volunteer for the experiences. There is a rollercoaster, a big shot drop, a bungee jump and a hanging lunge.
I didn't do it, but there is also the Linq Fly Zipline. It's not something that appeals to me, but I've seen lots of people enjoy it. What did you do in Vegas that isn't listed here?
