Snow Day, Christmas Prep and the Best Day Ever!
After being on shift, I was shocked to come outside to all the snow which put me in a very festive mood and I decorated for Christmas in the middle of November. My mum and sister also visited for some family birthday celebrations.

The vlog started with the first - potentially only - snow of the season. I was actually on a night shift when it started to come down and a lot of staff were really worried about driving home so ended up leaving early. I actually found the roads in the morning fine, and just thought the scenery was beautiful. It was a few days later it was a little more treacherous as the roads turned to ice. I heard the main roads were fine, but the one near me was awful and literally black ice around the estate. Luckily, I didn't have to leave the house and worked from home or was on days off.
I had a Shared Governance day and we had decided to do it on MS Teams but then everyone changed their mind last minute. Well unfortunately, I'd already made other arrangements, so that wasn't possible for me, so I ended up being the only one online, whilst everyone else was in person. Frustratingly, despite reminders the day before and morning of, to be logged on to start at 7am, I was still waiting at 20 past. It just feels like it really is a waste of my day when it happens and I hate it.
To cheer myself up and to distract myself, I decided to start decorating for Christmas. I took a brief break to head to my smear test, which I will share more about here, but when I got back I finished decorating, wrote all my Christmas cards and wrapped most of my presents. It felt like a very productive day all in all!
My cousin had an operation planned so I offered to watch and babysit my nephew for the day so she could tick some jobs off beforehand, but I ended up waking up not feeling great. Nevertheless, I kept to my commitment. We ate breakfast and watched some television at home, before heading off to a soft play. Unfortunately, when we arrived it was closed, so we went to the zoo again instead and had some much fun running around and playing on the lego. I feel like the last couple of visits have been so great, seeing different things to usual and this time we got to see the meerkats with some interactive activities.
It was a little tricky in the evening as I was going out with a friend, but my cousin was delayed. I ended up getting ready whilst my nephew watched Finding Nemo and then we headed to his grandparents house and dropped him off there. My friend was already in the car, so we headed straight into town from there, eating at Zizzi's and then enjoying Winter Wonderland and watching the skaters and live music.
Later at the weekend, we had a double belated birthday celebration as a lovely but busy Italian and my mum and sister stayed at mine to celebrate.
We went to brunch in the morning and then they left as my sister was working in the afternoon. I ended up heading to the doctors for more bloods and samples, again, I will share a big medical health update soon.
