A Letter to POTUS Trump 🦅

Image
The unimaginable has happened. President Trump. I've been struggling to decide what to write on the subject of the new President (Elect) of the United States of America. I think it's clear to see that apart from the voters in America, the majority of the world is against Donald Trump running the US. Having said that, even most of America voted against him with Hillary Clinton actually getting MORE votes but less areas so losing overall. When I woke to the news, I was disheartened to hear who had won, deeply upset and also deeply worried for the state of the country. Despite that, the result has been made and albeit disappointedly, President Trump will be the next POTUS. I think many will agree when I say that Barack Obama has been one of the best leaders in the modern age and I have loved following him and his family on this path. Admittedly, he is the only president I remember but I think he is so respected and respectful of others. Regardless of the differences (of wh...

Duke of Edinburgh: Diamond Challenge! 💎

Image
In celebration of our Diamond Anniversary , the DofE asked me to take part in there once-in-a-lifetime DofE-inspired Diamond Challenge to raise funds to help transform young lives near me. After doing my Bronze, Silver and Gold Duke of Edinburgh, I was so excited to join in and get my Diamond challenge too. To celebrate 60 years of the award, I was more than happy to join in. Read more  here . If you have no idea what I'm talking about, the Duke of Edinburgh is an exciting international youth development program. Anyone between the ages of 14 and 25 can take part and the best bit is you choose your own activities and set your own goals from 4 different sections including Physical, Volunteering, Skills and Expedition, with an additional Residential section for Gold. It was incredible to be apart of something for so long and I'm so proud of myself for completing all 3 awards.  For the Diamond,  I challenged myself to be more creative, explore new skills and g...

Bastille: Wild Wild World Tour / SECRET SHOW STORIES🎤

Image
Once again, I return to my weekly concerts! I seriously love going to concerts and I really missed not going to one last week but this is my last one for a while. I had tickets for a couple more but they make me so tired for the next day of university that I've sold them. I really wanted to go to the Jingle Bell Ball like last year but I didn't manage to get tickets so that's that. Support acts, Jagara and Rationale: The main act, Bastille: Walking in to the O2 I was a little shocked because it was so quiet and the two merchandise locations were only just opening with no queues. I was a little earlier than usual so perhaps that's it but it was a little disappointing hype. I started the evening off by going to Sky Backstage. I love how relaxing it is and the 'glam' area full of mirrors and it was empty. It's so nice to have a quick drink and snack in such a glamourous place while on free wifi...what more could you want! ;) Bastille were suppo...

Equal Pay Day #EqualValue 💰

Image
Equal Pay Day : a symbolic day dedicated to raising awareness of the gender pay gap.  On average, women still get paid less than men. Equal Pay Day marks the point in the year at which we effectively start working for free. This year it falls today. 51 days until the end of the year. Women now earn nothing. Equal Pay is the fight that we had in 1970 with the Equal Pay Act. It's the fight we thought we'd won. Equal work and equal value means women have a right to equal pay and yet today it is clear that is not the case. The current 13.9% pay gap will take around 62 years to close if we keep going at the same rate of progress as we are now. 13.9% less = 86.1p for every £1 a man earns Average hourly wage = £12.82 for £14.16  Average yearly wage = £30,612 for £39,136  20 years ago the gap was 76 days so the date would have fallen almost a month earlier, 16 October. Even since last year this has narrowed from 14.5% and Equal Pay Day fell earlier on November 9....

Halloween 2016: TGIs and Pumpkin Carving 🎃

Image
I love celebrating all holidays and seriously can't wait to be able to have my own home and full on decorate for every season and occasion. I have a few little bits here and there but I'm so excited! I love any holiday and reason to celebrate but halloween isn't all that big here for my age group, especially when you don't like going out to a nightclub. Instead me and my flatmates decided to have a quiet girly night.  Click here or watch the short vlog below. I got back from a long day of anatomy at university and got ready as quick as I ever have. I had a shower, did my make-up and got changed!  As usual, I wore my devil outfit. It's just so easy to throw on a black dress and then I already have all the little accessories. Plus I paired it with one of my new Kylie Jenner Lip Kit in Mary Jo K.  We went to TGI Friday's and after a slight mix up in venues - we made a booking for Leicester Square and ended up at the Piccadilly Circus branch! - we sat d...
