Danger on the Road!

Image
The week started off with a "new danger on the road" and ended with a New Years Eve party at my Aunt's house. All in all, it was a great end to 2017!  Click here to watch the vlog or see the video below.  I had a great start to the week passing my driving test as a Christmas present to myself. I've passed the theory test easily both times but after failing my driving test twice already, I didn't want all the chaos that goes with telling people about an upcoming test, nor the disappointment. Instead I booked my test the day after my first lesson and have been working towards it in secret ever since. I was so so excited to pass and I'm still somewhat in shock!  Of course, everyone made the joke that there was now a "new danger on the road". Even my mum's congratulations card said it! I personally think I'm a very safe driver and I'm pleased to say I'm not very confident behind the wheel. It's so different from 3 y...

My Top 10 Films of 2017!

Image
Films can often spark debate and opinions are massively varied. I've loved the range of films released this year so I thought I would share my top films of 2017! The Greatest Showman - Without a doubt, the most incredible film of the year. It's amazing! Wonder Woman - All about women and their strength, it's an epic movie that resonates.  Kong: Skull Island - Considering I went to a free showing of this, I was massively blown away. It's good!  Pitch Perfect 3 - Another musical but this time more lighthearted and I love the girl power!  Life - A truly sensational and the fact that it could be a genuine real life situation is what makes the scary future even more relatable.  Fifty Shades Darker - I know it's controversial but I'm actually a massive fan of the entire franchise so this was a beautiful film for me.  Home Again - It might not be an epic film but it's a lovely, happy film I could watch over and over again! Star Wars: The Last Jedi...

New Year's Resolutions 2018!

Image
2017 was a year for me to focus on personal development but 2018 is going to have focus to it. To keep with my annual tradition of writing resolutions , this year I will also be sharing them. Make new friends: As I start a new course and university plus move to a new city, I really want to try to make good, close friends. It helps s much to have people close to you that you can relate to and I would love to be able to have that relationship. Buy a car: I'm still somewhat in shock that I passed my driving test (have I mentioned that here yet?) so now my next big step is to purchase my first car! I am so excited and I'm currently looking for a Citroen DS3 Sports but I'm in the process of making that decision properly.  Attempt being healthier: I think this is almost everyone's go to goal but this year I'm really going to try and make the effort. I want to enjoy life and I am ridiculous unfit at the moment. With Midwifery meaning I'll be up on my feet, runni...

Giant Christmas Crackers - Christmas Special 2017!

Image
Family and presents defintely make my Christmas. I hope you all had a wonderful festive celebration and enjoyed yours too!  Click here to watch the vlog or see below.  On Christmas Eve we went to a friends house for 'pie and peas'. Honestly, I was quite disappointed in how long we were there for because mum forced us to come back very early. Jess and I did have some fun playing operation with Harriet though. She is so sweet! When we got back, they decided to open presents. I thought we were waiting until midnight so that is was actually Christmas Day but they didn't so I ended up opening presents alone. It was actually quite lonely and not how I wanted to start the day at all. Either way I still got lots of nice presents and I can't wait to use them all. Some of the things were on my wish list and others are going to be very practical come university. Before heading to bed, I curled my hair so the curls were a little looser for the morning. I loved h...

My 2017 Year Recap!

Image
I may have already uploaded my 2017  Best Nine of Instagram  but let's be honest, what social media deems as popular is not necessarily the biggest moments of your life. 2017 has been a massive year for me. It's been full of ups and downs. It's been harder than I ever imagined but it's also been an incredible year of change. It's opened so many doors of possibility and given me the opportunity to explore things I never anticipated. The start of the year was incredibly difficult. I found it harder than I ever imagined and at times I was sad but being around people and balancing my downtime defintely helped. I found great friendship with my flatmates and I loved being independent in London . When June and July hit, I didn't know what to do with my life but I knew I would find success in some way. Failing medical school was hard to accept. Thinking about it now, I still shed a tear because it really was - and still is - a dream of mine. I'm not sure how l...

My "Best of 2017" - Pictures Explained

Image
I love looking back on the past and since Best Nine on Instagram was launched, I have shared my most liked Instagram pictures ( 2016 and 2015 ). I think some of them are quite self explanatory but others have more of a story to them, that can often be lost if it's just the picture itself.  1. This is a photo taken at Harrods by my mum. Let's face it, it's the first time she's ever taken a decent picture! I am actually surprised that it's the most liked photo though. It was a fun Harry Potter inspired trip which a bought for her Christmas and birthday present: Harry Potter Studio Tour and Harry Potter and the Cursed Child . 2. My last night out as a UCL Student at UCLU was also the last night you could get in for free. The next week they raised the prices and the club went massively down hill. 3. 6. and 9. Birchbox is my favourite beauty subscription box. I love the design of the boxes but I did eventually unsubscribe after just over a year because the prod...

The Greatest Showman (Review)

Image
The Greatest Showman wasn't advertised as being released until January 20th but with the demand and opening numbers in America is was pushed forward. Well, my friend and I jumped at the chance to see it early!  Click here or watch the trailer below.  Inspired by the imagination of P. T. Barnum, The Greatest Showman is an original musical that celebrates the birth of show business and tells of a visionary who rose from nothing to create a spectacle that became a worldwide sensation.  I went because the trailer looked interesting and the cast had an incredible line up...urm hello? Zac Efron! I came out changed for the better. It's sometimes difficult to understand just how harsh the world used to be. While I can't relate on all levels, I think most people at some point have been bullied in their lives. I think a lot of people have been heartbroken or hurt or felt alone in the world, despite it holding billions of people. I have and I'm sure I will again....
