Cinema Update!

Image
I am sure you all know I love films and watching them. I also love sharing my thoughts of them afterwards, especially when I hear it helps people decide which to watch or when they have the same after-thoughts as I do! I've recently been to the cinema quite a few times and I've loved the last few trips: The Maze Runner: The Death Cure Fifty Shades Freed Black Panther   I thought I would open it up to you and ask which films you are looking forward to seeing, which you would recommend or which you want me to review before you see it? Let me know and I'll try to keep you all in mind!

5 Steps to Healthier Hair!

Image
Today I'm pairing up with Hollee, from HolleewoodHair , to share our top 5 tips to healthier hair! It's so funny that she chose this topic because I was literally planning on writing one very similar. After reading her's I completely agreed with them and so expanded with some of my own as well! In today’s world of ever-changing hair color and daily heat styling, healthy hair tends to fall further and further out of reach. When the split ends start multiplying and the breakage becomes abundant, it may seem like a lost cause. The good news is that there are a few tried and true methods that can substantially improve the quality of your hair. Join me on the quest for healthy hair by taking these 5 simple steps to healthier hair today. 1. Trim It Up Hollee says: "I know it sounds cliché, but trimming your hair often is the single best thing you can do to improve your hair quality. It’s a common misconception that trimming hair makes your hair grow faster, which isn’...

Wollaton Park and The Script!

Image
After reuniting with an old friend, we spent the afternoon at Wollaton Park and I had a blast at my first concert this year...The Script! Absolutely amazing although I did lose my camera so the quality was terrible and I had no storage space left. Nightmare! Click here to for the vlog or watch below! An emotional few days called for the perfect opportunity for my beautiful college friend, Rachel, to take me on a trip to explore Wollaton Park. I absolutely loved it. It was so serene and beautiful and defintely somewhere my dad would love. It was a surprisingly warm day for early-February and with my arm aching from a disastrous blood test, it was a pleasant distraction. I have no idea what the nurse was doing but she literally went in 3 times and wiggled it about. It was the worst and I was so bruised! On Friday, I decided to head to the gym a little late because I was busy essay writing. I haven't written an essay in so long, it can defintely be draining at times. Ne...

Black Panther (Review)

Image
Black Panther is the latest release from the Marvel franchise and what a film it was! Click here to watch the trailer or see the trailer below.  Having not seen the trailer or any promotional material for the film, I was not at all aware of what the film was about but I'm a massive fan of the Marvel franchise and love the entire film and TV series. I went in expecting something that was very different from what was shown but I actually really loved it. It was a much more mature film and as such, had a totally different, more adult vibe. There were many different themes and intertwining plots, making it slightly more complicated that a traditional Marvel film but the complexity was actually really refreshing and unique.  Like I said, I was completely unaware of the plot before going in but I really enjoyed how quickly the action started. I loved how it introduced the film and Wakanda world, which was very impressive. THe futuristic special effects brought the worlds...

I've Been Banned from Tesco's (Story Time)

Image
“Yesterday I was at my local Tesco's store buying a large bag of My Dog dog food for my loyal pet and was in the checkout queue when a woman behind me asked if I had a dog. What did she think I had an elephant? So, since I'm retired and have little to do, on impulse I told her that no, I didn't have a dog, I was starting the Dog Diet again. I added that I probably shouldn’t, because I ended up in hospital last time, but I'd lost 10 kilograms before I woke up in intensive care with tubes coming out of most of my orifices and IVs in both arms. I told her that it was essentially a perfect diet and that the way that it works is to load your pockets with My Dog nuggets and simply eat one or two every time you feel hungry. The food is nutritionally complete so it works well and I was going to try it again. (I have to mention here that practically everyone in queue was now enthralled with my story.)  Horrified, she asked me if I ended up in intensive care because the dog foo...

University Room Tour!

Image
I'm finally getting around to posting my room tour. I moved into my new home just over a month ago now and while I settled in quite quickly, I decided to save this post until I had a slow week. Hence the delay.  Click here to watch the bedroom room tour!  I have kept my room fairly simple and I'm sure you'll find it a little familiar as I've used almost the exact same things I have for the last 3 years. Here's my second year and third year accommodation.  I personally don't see the point in spending money on things that are already available for free so I kept my plain white sheets from my childhood single bed and used decorative pillows to add a little colour. One of my favourite finds of university is Command strips and hooks. I use them for EVERYTHING! They are the best because they are so versatile and don't leave any marks.   In terms of pictures I used my previously printed photographs from Photobox and Freeprints. Pictures are a...

Fifty Shades Freed (Review)

Image
I'm not going to lie, I'm kind of devastated the Fifty Shades trilogy is over. After reading the books, I was so excited I got to relive moments on screen with a stunning cast. Watching Fifty Shades of Grey was eye-opening and having it followed by Fifty Shades Darker was intense. I went to see Fifty Shades Freed on opening night and let's just say I was emotional. Click here to watch the trailer or see below. I have to say, I was really impressed with the very beginning few scenes of the film. Despite missing out a few parts from the book, the film quickly starts with the wedding and while short and sweet, it was very beautifully shot. Then the honeymoon sequence blew me away. Some of my favourite memories of the books come from the moments while Ana and Christian are on their honeymoon. While I am disappointed not to see them all translate to the big screen, I do think that it was a very clever way to get in so many beautiful locations and moments in such a s...
