When it came to bedroom furniture, I wanted to have something beautiful and lots of storage for both me and my other half. The master bedroom is a decent size, but it has a slightly awkward narrow chimney breast, about a third down the wall. This left quite a narrow space on the other side and so I was originally planning on having a wall of built in wardrobes along the entire length of the room, with the bed on the door wall, because this would allow for a larger bed and bedside tables. I also thought I would save money by buying IKEA PAX wardrobes and building them in to look fitted, which I had planned for my now ex-partner to do. When we broke up, I decided it wasn't something I would be able to do myself and of course, there are companies you can pay to do this for you, but it was ultimately not the complete look I loved and didn't save as much money as you would think. Three days from start to finish and the wardrobes are done. The green master bedroom is officially complete!  Click here to watch the vlog or see below.  After two very hectic and stressful night shifts, the only thing I wanted to do was sleep, but unfortunately, the only time I could get the wardrobes fitted and be at home, was straight after finishing nights. I rushed home after shift and then the wardrobe fitter arrived about half an hour afterwards and set to work. He stayed 0830 - 1400 roughly, then returned the next day 0800 - 1300, before finishing. I am so excited to share my finished kitchen and share another room tour in my new house. I am really pleased with how the finished kitchen looks, despite not being 100% my style. When I bought the house, I was informed the kitchen was newly completed and it had been fully painted navy blue walls, alongside the kitchen. My kitchen colour scheme was already navy blue, but I wanted to open the room up, so it was freshly painted with Blue Tang on the panelling and below, with the same colour on the rest of the walls in Tottington White .  I knew straight away that I wanted to have an integrated fridge-freezer so I went to Wren, who previously fit the kitchen, to get a quote for this and options available. The price was extortionate which was very upsetting, however with my dad's opinion also, he thought it looked great and was worth the money. Given that this week's posts are all about the kitchen, I thought I'd share one of my favourite new-to-me recipies that I got from Gousto  recently. This has been my favourite new meal prep pasta which is so nice. You can get 60% off your first box with my code if you would like to try your own.  This meal was a Creamy Sausage and Pea Farfalle. It was a simple pasta dish to make and as with most Gousto meals, the portion size is huge, so I split it into 3 serving sizes. I put it straight into meal preparation containers and it was perfect for taking to work. It also freezed and defrosted really well, meaning it was great to have over a few weeks, rather than back to back.  The recipe was simple and quick to make, with easy to follow instructions that I feel I will be able to recreate perfectly. I've always loved the look of integrated fridge freezers in kitchens as I think they are so much nicer and neater to look at. When I came to look at the house at the first viewing, they had a big American style fridge freezer, which was functional but given how neat the rest of the kitchen was, in my opinion it really did stick out like a sore thumb. The space available also had pipework boxed in at the back, making one aspect much narrower and a very annoying dust trap.  I asked the sellers where they got their kitchen from and was told it was newly fitted (which I assumed meant in the last year) and from Wren. I sent pictures to Wren and luckily, the kitchen was still available to purchase. The person I spoke to was very quick to answer and clear to name the design which I found really useful. A little bit of a shorter vlog as my dad and his partner came over for the weekend to help with some demolition! Click  here to watch the vlog or see below.  I had set my alarm for bright and early in the morning, but when I woke up, I saw I text from my dad saying that they were setting off 2 hours later than anticipated as he was getting the flu vaccine, so I ended up having a rather chilled morning in bed instead. I then walk up and got ready for the day before they arrived to work.  We first had a little tour of the house, as Karen hadn't seen the house at all and dad hadn't really been since I first moved. It was quite fun to show it to someone brand new who hadn't seen the majority of the work. The first job was ripping out the utility room, both the units and the panelling and then cutting up an old wardrobes and storage unit that the previous owners left in the garage. Like I said on Wednesday , this week is all about the bathroom. Well you've heard all about the planning and all about the disaster renovation, now is time to see it in person. Despite everything, I do think it's a massive improvement. Unfortunately, I can't be happy with it just because of the experience to get to this point and how difficult and heart-breaking it has been. The ceiling and doors have now all been painted and the LED mirror finally fitted too!  Without further ado...the family bathroom!  As you walk in, you are met with the toilet. On top I have a plant which my mum got me as a house warming present. The plant has somewhat become the inspiration for the whole room because of it's purple leaves. I was originally going to put it in my bedroom when the wardrobes got fitted, but I think it looks lovely in there and the colour pop brings everything together.
