Rosa's Thai, Beverley Trip and Birthday Celebrations!

I had a lovely couple of breaks in my 2 weeks of dissertation writing, plus had a weekend of birthday celebrations!

Between shifts and dissertation writing, it was nice to be able to enjoy a few hours with my cousin and nephew at Wollaton park. I did my second day as a PMA, spending 3 hours in the hospital before heading to hers for a nice walk around the park in the incredible summer sun, then we went to pub before having some fun "gardening".
Later that week, my youngest cousin was up visiting her sister as well, so they hosted a barbeque on the Sunday and I went over to spend some time with them as well. It was a nice little break, although did distract me a little too much. Of course, dissertation stress can be a little overwhelming at time and that, alongside the sadness I still feel on a daily basis, I can't help but wonder what all the sacrifices I'm going through are for sometimes. I'm trying so hard to stay positive and celebrate the little things, but it's hard. It's so hard and I'm missing my old life so much.
The following week, was my birthday week and I had planned to take the weekend off. It was a little stressful as I found that I had a voucher for the beauticians expiring at the end of the month and they wouldn't expand it. They luckily had a cancellation so I headed back at lunch time and got an express manicure and luxury pedicure which was perfect. I then went back to the farm and got ready to head to Leeds. I'd booked a lovely meal at Rosa's Thai Cafe with a couple of high school friends. I'd been to the one in Liverpool which was a little posher but nevertheless, the food was just as yummy...if not better!
When I got back, mum and I went in the hot tub for a little R+R and catch up before heading to bed.
We went to Beverley on the Saturday to look at my mum's new AirBNB property which they have just finished renovating. I can't help but feel like it's just another excuse not to spend time with me. I have lots of little project around the house I could have used her help with or could still use her help with. She used my grandma as an excuse last year, yet this year, she's not even been to visit me once (I don't think), which is really upsetting. Also, she's used some of my favourite furniture pieces in the house which I wouldn't have really put in a rental, especially some of the nice artwork but I sadly don't have a say.
We did have a lovely meal at one of the local pubs and then enjoyed a long, very wet and rainy walk in the town centre.

My birthday celebrations were everything I wanted and more. It was just the three of us and just how it was planned. Of course, it would have been nice to have more family there, but one of my cousins didn't arrive as planned in the morning which really hurt. She didn't even let me know or apologise, so of course, that made me sad. Then my sister burnt me, whilst curling my hair which took an hour to do and barely lasted 2 hours.
I'd booked the Iris for a true Sunday lunch. Despite it being Father's Day, the meal was lovely. We had a three course meal and although I did have to complain about my main course, it was all delicious in the end.
Then we had a picture perfect photoshoot in the garden. It was slightly wet but the sunshine came out for my birthday which defintely made me very happy.
Then we returned back inside for board games! I bought a few new ones because I knew I was having some birthday money and so I treated myself in advance and then were all pretty fun which was nice. I bought Shut the Box, Clues and Hues and Sixty Second Scribbles. I think they're fun because they work for all ages which is nice.
To end the night, we all headed into the hot tub for an hour, then showered, did cake and watched a film in the lounge.
