Late Christmas Present Haul!

Image
I think this may be my last Christmas post of the season...which is kind of sad but also I'm kind of ready. We took down all the decorations on the 6th January, which we do every year, on the 12th day after Christmas which we do every year. When I got to my dad's house, over the course of the weekend, I got a load of new Christmas presents! Some friends called Peter and Angela got me some super sweet ankle socks. Now some may say that socks are boring but they are so incredibly useful I don't care! My Aunty Sarah and Uncle David (dad's brother) got me some chocolates and some bath supplies from The Body Shop. I always get these cute little 'baubles' for friends and I seriously think they are adorable.  My sister, Victoria, is the best at getting presents and always knows what I want, before I even know myself! This year was no different as she and her little family of 3 got me a selfie stick which I love and a cardigan.  Wearing the jack...

Make It Happen - Mark Zuckerberg Post 💪

Image
I first saw this post on Instagram from Reese Witherspoon but she had reposted it from another celebrity who I now forget. While I think it's great that 'Darlene' has connected with friends and family through social media, I think this whole comment is so thought provoking, it really struck a cord in me.  The fact that a grandmother is telling her grandchildren to date a so called 'nerd' because they may one day become rich and famous is absolutely terrible. You should date the guy you like, the person who makes you smile and the man who makes you smile. You shouldn't date because someone tells you to but you especially shouldn't because of their wealth and fame, let alone the mere prospect of it. I hate that people think this way and this is why people are now so scared to love for love because you never know when people are doing it for the right reasons.  I think Mark Zuckerberg is an amazing guy. After all that he's done and doing, he still ...

Christmas Decoration Haul! (Bargain Hunt)

Image
I went to a little garden centre near to where I live called Carr Gate and bought some Christmas decorations which they were on sale. I don't have any decorations that I call my own except a small Christmas tree and the decorations that are on that. All these decorations were bargains with 80% off. First I got this cute little reindeer. Every time I've seen these I've thought that they were adorable but never been able to convince myself to spend that much. These were only £4 so I had to! I like cute little sayings and so that's what the next two 'signs' were. The first being almost a book stopper saying 'PEACE to all on Christmas' but it's just simple and easy. The second being this door hanging sign that says: 'This Christmas bring joy to your heart: love, friends and home'. I think it's super adorable especially the home part. This last one I didn't actually buy but it's a Christmas card that the family got. I love...

iPhone Hack to Save Lives!

Image
I recently discovered, undoubtedly, one of the best features of an iPhone. This feature of the iPhone, I have never heard of before until someone posted a post on Facebook. But, I think it's an amazing feature and it could literally SAVE YOUR LIFE!  I appreciate many patients come into hospital but those who come in unconscious or in serious conditions may not be able to communicate. Doctors have no way of knowing who they are or how to contact their next of kin. The majority of times phones are locked - understandably as a safety feature - but this feature not only allows people to see next of kin contact details without having the password but also access to key information which may save your life.  Many people don't realise that the public can set up something called a "Medical ID" on your iPhone if you have the health app, which comes free with phone. This information can be accessed even while the phone is locked by clicking on the emergency options. It...

Christmas Cinnamon Angels! (Baking)

Image
So the other night I decided I would make the Cinnamon Angel Cookies that my mum got me for Christmas! Click here to see the full blog post! It takes you to an American website but my mum actually got these from John Lewis apparently. Unfortunately, I think it was probably just a Christmas special. :( Anyway onto the baking! It was actually really easy because the mix came with everything but an egg and 120g of softened butter.   I began by beating the egg and butter and then added the mix in. I started using the wooden spoon but once it got hard to mix properly, I just used my hands. As soon as it was mixed I stopped because it's always easy to overwork dough. I then wrapped up the dough in cling film and put it in the fridge for an hour. This is always the hard part! It's always tempting to just start working right away but for good cookies, you should let it rest.  Once time was up I floured my surface and rolling pin and then started rolling it out. It ...

New Year Resolutions 2016!

Image
Last year I wrote down my resolutions for the first time. I've always wanted to and while I've always thought of them, I'd never written them down before. I feel like writing them down will make me at least somewhat more accountable for them. If you didn't read last year's click here . So on to this year's goals! Pass my driving test. Seriously this is so long overdue that I'm almost sick of it! I hope to pass with my test but if not, I WILL retake the theory and practical in the summer and PASS! Work out at least 4 times a week. I started working out 4-5 times a week last uni year at university and was feeling really happy and good within myself. When the exams started in May and then all the drama went down, I just didn't feel like working out as I felt it was almost a waste of energy. Then I moved back home so I didn't have a gym that was within easy reach. I began again for the first couple of months in my new accommodation but I've fo...

Image
I saw these going around Instagram for the last few days and finally decided to get one for myself. It wasn't anywhere near as easy as I thought it would be. I thought it would just have a link on the Amazon app but no.  I did a quick Google search to find the website and so if you too want to find your 9 most 'liked' and popular photos of 2015 on Instagram just click or visit 2015bestnine.com. There it is pretty easy to follow and they have the instructions clear to follow. On the main page, you can also see the top 10 celebrity pictures. Here is the page with the instructions So here's mine: So the first photo is me lounging on the sofa in, what was, my brand new Trixin Clothing dress. I did a  haul post  of the other items I got from  Trixin Clothing  which you can view ...
