9 MLM Business' my Friends Have!

Image
I've genuinely loved sharing and working with  small businesses  this year. Having my own small business , I understand the struggles and what it entails, but I also think having an independent business and working as a distributor of a multi-level marketing (MLM) company can be very different. Often, they have a bad rap as people see them as a pyramid scheme, but that's not the case and any business that works in this way is illegal. I never knew anyone or saw any MLMs before I started my own almost 4 years ago, so whether I was oblivious or they've become bigger more recently, I'm loving seeing more and more people start their own side hustles. Today, I thought it would be fun to share some of the MLMs that are available in the UK, with links to businesses owned by my own friends too. Let's share the love and help everyone grow their own business!  SheerSense : SheerSense is the UK broker of Senegence, a US company. It specialises in high quality skincare and long...

9 Affordable Small Businesses I'm Obsessed With!

Image
As I am sure many of you know, I have my own small business , but I think with the pandemic, there has been a huge increase in other's opening their own small businesses and I love it. Instagram and TikTok have introduced me to many, and I am so invested in some of them, so it's fun to follow their journey's and see their successes. I also think, with my goal of sustainability , it's even more important to buy from independent locals, where the money goes direct to supporting their family. Here's my top 9 new finds, some are even of friends businesses and it makes me so happy and proud!  Fabstract : When I say I'm obsessed with this one, I'm not alone. She sells hand painted air fresheners with succulents that are personalised with smell, colour and plant. Her weekly restocks sell out within minutes and sadly, I haven't been quite lucky enough to get one myself yet. Little Village Candles :  I am so proud to share this one because it's a friend who...

Course Variations and What to Expect (Hippo Hynobirthing with Hannah)

Image
Continuing on with the hypnobirthing posts, this week I wanted to talk more about what courses are available within The Wise Hippo Birthing Programme and which one is best for you.  The ideal time to start classes is at 28 weeks pregnant. This is the start of the third trimester and is a great time, as many people start thinking about birth and researching options at this time. It also means that people in the group are likely to deliver around the same time, whilst also giving enough time to practice techniques in advance. Some people prefer to prepare earlier, especially if they have had a previous poor experience of traumatic birth. For this reason, it’s a very personal decision and one I would be happy to discuss individually if you feel you may benefit from a different schedule. Importantly, it is never too late to start a hypnobirthing course, so even if you are past 34 weeks pregnant, I would still recommend reaching out. It may be a case of booking a fast track private cour...

Goodbye Holly, Easter Weekend and 2nd Anniversary!

Image
More Hello Fresh meals, celebrating Easter and my second year anniversary, this week was another busy one, but also quite sad as my childhood dog sadly passed away.  Click here to watch the vlog or see below.  In between night shifts, I actually got a phone call and text from my mum. It turned out that my little runt of the litter had to be put to sleep, after a stroke in the morning of 2nd April. So to Holly...goodbye. You were truly the best dog I could have ever got. From the moment I watched you be born into the world, I knew you had to be mine. I wish I’d have spent more time with you this year. I hope you, Tilly and Sam are stealing all the food and running around together, reunited again wherever you are. I’ll miss you.  I very much had a lie in and was woken up by Luke at 3pm banging around the kitchen, trying to tidy up a little bit, which was sweet, but also gave me a headache. After cuddling for a little bit, he went downstairs to bake, whilst I stayed upstairs...

Updated Study Room Reveal!

Image
I relatively recently moved house (back in October), but it's been a little wait before my new sofa arrived. With that, the study also got some upgrades, but it was also the room that was the last to be furnished as I wasn't rushing the process.  The room is a relatively small second bedroom box room, which would only fit a small single bed in, so instead, it's been turned into an office. It works really well with working from home, for additional storage and as a little cosy reading nook. I've shared a little home haul recently of both furniture purchases and my latest decor, but I also want to share the finished office. It is finally finished and it's taken just a little bit longer than planned. Up until a couple weeks ago, there were still some little bits I wanted to add, especially in terms of décor, but I finally decided. I'm a little OCD when it comes to colour schemes and finding art that suits my personality, whilst also not being too expensive as it...

What "WE" got Each Other for our Anniversary 2021!

Image
Another special day, another gift haul. This year we actually got to spend the day together for our anniversary. I was so sad last year to have to celebrate over FaceTime as it was pretty much the start of the first National U.K. lockdown. This year, it happened to fall on a bank holiday so Luke had the day off work, and I requested the day off so I could spend it with him.  We still couldn’t do much because of the current restrictions but we started the day with presents. I ended up getting Luke a few little gifts that were on his wish list. We’ve been putting up a lot of artwork recently and so a laser level would have come in quite handy, so that was one of the gifts. I also got him something for his office desk that he’s been asking for for a while: Newton’s Cradle. Personally, I think it will distract him too much but I think they’re cool so happy to have it in my house at some point. Then I bought him a game, More or Less. He had a different one on his list but it seemed too ...

Why The Wise Hippo Birthing Programme? (Hippo Hynobirthing with Hannah)

Image
This month is Hypnobirthing Awareness Month so I thought it would be fun to share some hypnobirthing posts for this month's Midwifery Monday series!  For those that don't know, I completed my hypnobirthing instructor training with The Wise Hippo back in July 2020, after seeing the benefits of the practice in my placements. I want to share, educate and encourage others to feel empowered which is one of the reasons I started my training, but there are so many different techniques and companies who teach hypnobirthing, and for me, it was really important to find a company that shared my values, which was how I ended up with The Wise Hippo Birthing Programme. For more of a basic overview, I have shared more about exactly what hypnosis and hypnobirthing is before so if you missed that post, make sure to read it first. I'm also still wanting some more Case Studies to teach for a full free course, so if you're interested, please do get in touch.  Hippo Hypnobirthing with Han...
