New Year's Resolutions 2018!

2017 was a year for me to focus on personal development but 2018 is going to have focus to it. To keep with my annual tradition of writing resolutions, this year I will also be sharing them.

  1. Make new friends: As I start a new course and university plus move to a new city, I really want to try to make good, close friends. It helps s much to have people close to you that you can relate to and I would love to be able to have that relationship.
  2. Buy a car: I'm still somewhat in shock that I passed my driving test (have I mentioned that here yet?) so now my next big step is to purchase my first car! I am so excited and I'm currently looking for a Citroen DS3 Sports but I'm in the process of making that decision properly.
  3. Attempt being healthier: I think this is almost everyone's go to goal but this year I'm really going to try and make the effort. I want to enjoy life and I am ridiculous unfit at the moment. With Midwifery meaning I'll be up on my feet, running around the ward most of the day, I'm hoping it will mean I have less time to eat.
  4. Accept people: I'm too often disappointed by people letting me down so this year I really want to try to accept people for who they are and not be so upset when they let me down, yet to graciously accept what they do offer. For my own personal health and mental wellbring, I really need to lower my expectations.
  5. Reduce my Diet Coke habit: I'm very good in terms of recreational habits like smoking and alcohol because I do neither. My personal downfall is Diet Coke so my goal of the year is to no longer drink it at home, only when out and at parties!
  6. Enjoy the wedding: My mum is getting married in August and while I don't like her partner, I hope I can at least somewhat enjoy the day as a bridesmaid.
  7. Grow my business: This is a very broad goal and I do have them split into multiple ones but I don't want it to be the focus of all my personal goals. I want to grow my customer base my implementing the training's I received over Christmas; I want to recruit people to join my team so that I can both support and teach them but also change their lives for the better.
What are you New Year's Resolutions? Remember if you are writing your own, try to make them SMART and use these tips to help you accomplish them.

  1. A goal I had this year was to make more new friends as well. I do find as you get older you tend to drift from some friends, so I feel like now I try to make an extra effort to be open to new friendships.
