Roadtrip, New Sofa's and a 21st! - Spring Break (Part 2)

With such a busy week of Spring Break I had to split the vlog in two! A roadtrip, new sofa's and my cousin 21st, ending with a meal at Pizza Express and a scary drive home.

If you haven't seen last week's post, click here to read that first because I split the week in two! On Wednesday, my little sister and I decided to have a little road trip down to my oldest sister's house. We spent a couple days with my niece and nephew before heading back North.

I never thought I would say it but I absolutely love driving now. I used to hate and I was so scared for every lesson. My last driving teacher was amazing and put me at total ease and now I love the freedom it gives me. The drive down went perfectly and while the drive back wasn't quite as smooth, it was still a great experience.
On Friday, I headed to see a friend and colleague through SheerSense, Suzanne. She recently gave birth to a precious little boy and I was so excited to meet him. I got all the snuggles and after a brief pub lunch, we headed home for his bath and feed time. I didn't want to overstay my welcome, especially because daddy was ringing but I loved getting some baby time. Shockingly, I didn't get a single picture!
Saturday was the night we've all been waiting for but gosh it was a crazy day. With my credit card stolen, I had to borrow my mum's to put my bet on the Grand National. it was close but I did have JUST enough time and came 1st, 4th, 7th and 8th. I love horse racing and actually, the next time I'm home is for the Sponsored Point-to-Point: I can't wait!

Once Katie and Peter arrived, I started getting ready for the party and wore my new Dorothy Perkins lace dress. It was so comfy and made me feel so pretty. I love my hair curled and then it was time to go to my cousin's 21st. Because there were so many of us, we did have to do a couple of journeys there and then as I was the only one not drinking, I had to do 3 back, as my grandma also wanted to leave early.
The cake was absolutely amazing. It was a Naked Palette from Urban Decay and a Michael Kors handbag. I'm sure Ellie loved it but I was more interested in the inside. It was the most decadent chocolate cake with chocolate icing and it was almost brownie like. Honestly, it was heaven. I can't wait to have a wedding cake with chocolate cake inside.
I was so glad the two little kids came because I had a lovely time playing games with them. I would be so bored just sitting with all the couples. Give my a baby or little kid any day!

I loved my 21 balloons and while I don't particularly like the way they look with the connection, I do think it was such a clever idea. I remember using them as a photo background for my party and it was a nightmare to get them to stay in the right positions.
Regardless, I had a lovely time. Happy birthday, Ellie.
My last and final day of holiday was again crazy busy. Having not got home until 2am and not asleep until just before 4am, I woke up at 11am,, got dressed and ready for the day, then set straight off to Trinity Walk. I wanted to take back the clothes that I had decided not to keep from Dorothy Perkins, but it ended up taking forever. As I lost the credit card I'd paid for it with, it was a real struggle to get my money back. Finally, I got it on a gift card and on the walk to Lush, Sarah text me to say she was here. A quick hello and we walked down together to pick out a couple of gift sets for both my mum's birthday and my sister's boyfriend's mum's birthday.
After all the rushing, it was time to sit down and enjoy a yummy Pizza Express meal. Dough balls and pizza is my perfect meal, minus the brownie. Much to my disappointment, Sarah didn't fancy dessert so I had to wait until I got home. A quick goodbye and I was home.
Then I had to pack. With coming and going so much, my bedroom was a total disaster. It took a good couple of hours before I was ready. I'd already packed everything so I decided not to drive back to Nottingham and i'm so glad I didn't because there was practically zero visibility with a sudden downpour. It was crazy weather and a definite surprise. We ended up having to take a stop and mum ate, while I had my dessert finally.

And then it was all over and back to start another 12 weeks of university. I hope if you got a holiday this Easter or Spring Break, you enjoyed it as much as I did! Stay busy ;)
