Isolation, Mother's Day and Small Wins!

With the development of a cough, I decided not to go into placement for my shifts on Sunday and Monday. Following the latest government advice which then came out on Monday evening, I then had to remain in self-isolation for a further 5 days (totalling 7 days). It was a shame to miss out on the two days of placement but ultimately, university ended up pulling us out of placement on Tuesday night anyway because it was unsafe practice with little support for student's due to staff shortages and lack of personal protective equipment.
By the time Thursday came around, I was craving Coke so I had to order myself a Pizza Hut delivery. Unfortunately, there was a huge mess up with the order so I ended up getting someone else's and having to wait an additional 30 minutes for my reorder to arrive. Luckily, it didn't take very long and the staff were super supportive.
I also ended up making cookies and finished knitting my baby hat (which I am so proud of!). Of course, I couldn't sit around doing nothing! I also managed to do the majority of my Fetal Monitoring e-learning health package and caught up on some television which I have been behind on for months.
Finally, out of isolation(!) I spent the morning loading the car and packing up my last few bits and pieces before spending the afternoon with my love at Calke House for a lovely walk around the grounds, whilst practising social distancing to the best of our ability. Honestly, it was just nice to be out of the house and spend time with the person I love.
