Updates and Asking for Opinions

You may have noticed some changes around here recently. Over the past two months, I've been slowly making this blog easier to navigate and put more control back in the hands of the readers. I love writing, as you all know, but I would absolutely love for more people to access the posts.

Since starting the blog, I have gone from being a college student, to being at two universities and then qualifying as a midwife. I now feel that I am very much in the midst's of adulthood. I have moved into my own house and you'll have seen my recent posts relating to my interior design experience. I feel on top of life in multiple ways, but with that comes maturity and personal changes.

On the website, I haven't made many changes to the basic site, since 2017, when it got completely revamped. I haven't quite made the huge renovation I did back then, because I still quite like the layout and colour scheme, but it's an option going forward. I have however, moved some aspects, finally got adverts working properly and relabelled all my posts, so that there is now a new categorisation which is simpler and reduced in number. I also went through and removed all broken links. For some, these have been replaced and others just removed completely. I am so sad to see how many bloggers are no longer around, but also some big companies I used to love. Sadly, this meant I also had to delete quite a few comments because they were linking to pages that no longer existed.

The biggest change to branding has come from my motto, which has been there since I first started blogging in 2014! It used to read "My little corner of safety in this scary world we call home. A place of happiness, vulnerability and self-love." and whilst that still resonates with me on so many levels, I wanted it to sound more mature, as I have matured in age myself. It now reads "20-something year old midwife and business owner, sharing the reality of life to promote, encourage and inspire.". I hope that makes everyone realise that this blog is all about normalising reality.

I've also started posting more on Instagram, sharing short snippets of each post, to start conversation before getting the blog. I seem to be getting more interaction on there which has been lovely, so hopefully heading in the right direction. On that note, I would love to hear what you want to read going forward. I've always written about topics that I find joy in, but I would love to know what you want to see. Let me know in the comments below or head to my Instagram to share over there!
