A Quarter of a Decade and 25 Life Facts!

I'm back from my annual leave after a lovely 11 days away from my day job and a week off my side job. I love what I do and I feel very lucky that I do a job that gives me great happiness and joy, but it's also so important to have quality time with loved ones and take a much needed break from time to time.

Like I said in my last post, this was the first time I've ever taken a scheduled break from blogging and vlogging and it truly felt amazing. I feel like I've been reset and now more than ever, I am excited to start writing again. I had a great few days with family and boyfriend, but I also celebrated my 25th birthday, so I thought, what would be a great post to come back with...25 facts about me of course! It's been a while since I've done any sort of get to know me post, so here we go!

  1. I grew up in a very loving family and until my parents got divorced when I was 12, I had an admittedly sheltered childhood.
  2. I am one of four daughters, being the third oldest. I was so excited to have a baby sister, but have always wished I was closer to them all.
  3. I grew up on a farm, with my family being maternal farmers and one of the biggest growers of rhubarb in the country.
  4. Animals have always been a love of mine. Horses and dogs are a must for a family. I would really love to get a cockerpoo in the not so distant future.
  5. Most of my family live in Yorkshire...bar my immediate family which are dotted all over: Nottinghamshire, Hertfordshire, Sussex and of course, my dad is in Powys, Wales.

  6. My favourite colour is purple. It always has been and always will be. When I was younger, I had a lilac room for years, followed by indigo, which was quite a change.
  7. One of my favourite titles in life is aunt. My two nieces and my nephew will forever have my heart.
  8. Tennis and Formula One are the two sports I follow, although not religiously anymore.
  9. My favourite song of time is "Soulmate" by Natasha Bedingfield, ever since I first heard someone sing it on karaoke at a friends party when I was younger.
  10. My favourite television shows are: One Tree Hill, Grey's Anatomy and The Vampire Diaries.

  11. I qualified as a midwife in December of last year. I also have a business at Hannah's Lips UK, as an Independent Distributor of SheerSense. Plus of course, I have this blog and my YouTube channel.
  12. I love advocating for women and supporting informed choice. I think that's one of the reasons I love to blog, because it provides a safe space for everyone to be themselves.
  13. I also became a qualified hypnobirthing instructor with The Wise Hippo, but I don't think I will personally do that for income at this time.
  14. Likewise, I love helping women feel more comfortable in their own skin through my beauty business. It's all about beauty from within and with high quality skincare that works, it really does make a difference.
  15. I love wearing makeup, but I also love being bare faced and free. I don't like the in between; it's one or the other for me!

  16. I moved to London when I was 18 years old to study Medicine at University College London. It was the hardest thing I'd ever done and after never failing anything academically, after three years I had to leave the course.
  17. Following this, I became very depressed and had to kick myself out of it, when I quickly decided Midwifery was my new path. I applied through clearing to one university, the University of Nottingham, and got in very easily.
  18. I often feel guilty about how naturally midwifery came to me, having heard others difficult journeys and stories. I really did make the most of my time there, taking on as many extracurricular activities as I possibly could.
  19. Having now graduated, I applied for and got one of my dream jobs. I now live on my own in a small two bedroom terrace and I love it, for the most part.
  20. I do however feel like I'm falling apart recently. I've really hurt my ankle and my wrist, so who knows how long I'll be able to work clinically in the job at present.

  21. I genuinely have one of the worst memories of my childhood. I can remember very little.
  22. I've been on television multiple times, the most embarrassing of which is when I cried on national television after eating rhubarb in the Great British Menu
  23. I've always dreamed of being a mother and my biggest fear is infertility. I'm also afraid of spiders, heights and going fast.
  24. I would love to be able to ice skate properly, but I don't like letting go of the side so that's not really going to happen.
  25. I'm finishing with my goals for 25: I hope in the next year to get my band 6, buy a house and get a new car. This year will hopefully be a big year!

How's that for a summary of my life. I hadn't planned for it to be those sort of facts to begin with, but it's quite nice to do a little summary of my first quarter of a decade at the same time. What else would you like to know?
