Family Fun in the Sun and Shift Work!

The last couple of weeks have been busy with my first two weeks of Labour Suite placement and trips home: family BBQs, 21st birthday's and tiring shift work. I'm beginning to understand the whole work-life balance!

The weather in the UK has been absolutely gorgeous recently! On my first weekend home we decided to have a cute little BBQ. Of course, in our family it had to be followed by some sort of gambling and betting and this night called for poker! We started to count the cards out in different languages so I thought it made for a very funny night. It's always nice to spend time with family, despite wanting a PJ day catching up on sleep and TV!
The next day was actually a bank holiday so my mum had the day off work. I've been wearing Fly Girl LipSense a lot recently, so I decided to try Roseberry but it just looked wrong with my red top.
Nevertheless, we headed to Chiquito's and then to the cinema to see the new Star Wars film, Solo. I really enjoyed it! And surprisingly, despite not watching the previous films, so did my mum and sister.
I've been finding it difficult to decide on one of the presents I want for my birthday. I just want it to be perfect because it's going to last a life time and I think I'm super close to narrowing it down!
My first week of placement was crazy and busy and tiring and everything I dreamed of an more. It's truly amazing, such a special experience and a real honour.
Unfortunately, with the way my shifts played out and already taking 4 days off for my nephew's birthday and my Wimbledon trip, I was unable to get the Saturday off for Ellie's 21st and to be honest, I completely forgot about it at the time. Nevertheless, I luckily had 3 days off in the middle of the week so I caught the train back after my night shift on Monday and spent the first day catching up on sleep, TV and chilling.
For her birthday meal she picked a busy restaurant in Leeds called the Bar and Grill and while the food was amazing, grandma was not impressed at the noise and chaos. It got worse when we had to go down the service elevator, which was absolutely disgusting, to get to the toilet as the stairs were far too steep for grandma and she didn't want to go alone.

Stay tuned for next week with a fun Summer Ball!
