Welfare Wednesday: Judgement

πŸ’š Most people have heard of the quote “never judge a book by it’s cover” but this equally translates to people as well.

πŸ’š In today’s society, all too quickly people judge others for what they see or hear - myself included. Too easily we make an opinion of someone based on a single action or event. Sadly, we don’t know everything that goes on in a persons life and nor should we.

πŸ’š People go through hardships, ups and downs in life and we can’t control how they deal with that. What we can control is how we react to it. Sometimes the response can change a person’s day.

πŸ’š The next time someone is upset, listen. The next time someone is angry, smile. The next time someone shouts, breathe. The next time someone is quiet, hug.

πŸ’š Instead of judging someone immediately, I challenge you to take a step back and try to understand what they’re going through at the moment. They may have lost a loved one, they might be injured, they could be struggling through heartbreak or perhaps they have received a bad result. Whether it seems meaningless to you, it affects different people in different ways. Be kind to them. Walk gently in the lives of others. Not all wounds are visible.
