BIG NEWS, Elf Hunting and Woburn Safari!

This was such a big week with some very exciting news, plus a last minute trip to see my sister, niece and nephew too!

The week started with a house viewing for a property I got butterflies when I first saw it on paper. I ended up being able to see it before it officially went on the market, which is great as it's so crazy at the moment. I loved it the second I walked in and despite since then having a few doubts, it has the potential to be perfect and is ready to be moved into straight away. I put an offer in the same day and was so pleased to hear that I was accepted just a couple of days later. The day before I got the offer accepted, I also received a promotion at work which was great too!

I have also done a few shifts on labour suite recently, as well as the wards, so it was lovely to be able to have some positive experiences and get some very grateful thank you cards too.
I ended up speaking to my oldest sister and booking a little bit of a last minute trip down to see her and the kids. They went to swimming when we first arrived so we got some yummy items from the local bakery for lunch and then went for a forest walk with the dog. It was a lovely location with lots of different areas to explore, including a little elf village with hand carved wood sculptures. Plus, an area for building dens and forts. The kids had a great time.
The next day, we headed off out to Woburn Safari Park. They have a drive through safari which is the main attraction, and then a small foot safari including things for kids to do, like the indoor soft play area, an outdoor play area, a tree top adventure challenge, pedalos and a train ride.
I was pleasantly impressed at how close to the animals we could get and we were very lucky at where they were in their locations when we happened to drive past because the elephants, giraffes and lions were especially close.

We drove back around half past 5 as they were starting to prepare tea, so we ended up with a KFC on the way home, which wasn't quite what I had wanted but hey ho. I wanted a home cooked meal, Luke wanted a pub meal but it was already almost 8pm so it was far too late to make or cook something, as I was getting up at 6am the next day.

All in all, a great week!
