My First Impression and Review of LipSense!
It's a special LipSense Saturday post!
LipSense is my new business over at Hannah's Lips UK. I am a UK Independent Distributor for SheerSense (the equivalent of the US company Senegence). For all my details and links click here.
Today I am sharing a post that is well overdue. This is a from back when I first tried out LipSense. It is an honest first impression and review!
I first came across LipSense on YouTube and once on person started using it, it seemed like everyone did! They were all raving about it and I was desperate to try it but it wasn't until recently, it became available in the UK.
I just knew I would love this product so I snapped up 5 colours when I placed my first order. All worn with glossy gloss.
The colours I chose were: Apple Cider, Aussie Rose, Napa, Fuscia and Fly Girl (not pictured).
When I very first applied the lip colour, I noticed a brief stinging sensation but in reality this lasted less than 10 seconds and was totally manageable. Since that first application, I have never felt it again.
I was initially quite shocked at how much your lips really did stick together so you defintely need to follow the instructions and make sure to have your lips parted. It's a must! Once the gloss was on though, it totally felt like a normal lipstick and I could rub my lips as much as I wanted.
They recommend you apply the gloss every couple of hours but in reality, I probably applied it every 4 hours at the most. I tended to just apply when my lips were beginning to feel a little dry.
I heard a lot of people find the colour quite drying but to be fair, I didn't find it to be any more drying than when I wear other matte lipsticks, for example Kylie Jenner's lip kits. I actually think it was less drying because when the gloss was applied it felt almost as though I was wearing vaseline.
The first day, I didn't notice any wear at all. I picked a lighter colour at first so perhaps that was why. I know the video makes it look like there was but honestly, that was just the lighting! The second and third day had the most wear because I was defintely starting to go through the exfoliation period! By the fourth day, the only really noticeable wear was the waterline which came off. But I could totally cope with that because you could only tell when my mouth was open and close up.
In the end, I fell completely in love with this product! I love wearing lipstick but I rarely do because I hate that it comes off and transfers. I hate that it needs reapplying and I hate that it feels sticky. I feel like this is the answer to all my lipstick problems!
