Daniel's Hawaii Tour (Review)

Image
I've previously mentioned it but I booked my Pearl Harbour trip with Daniel's Hawaii Tours  and honestly I was so heartbroken and upset. They were an awful company to work with, travel with and disgusting to get a partial refund from.  When I first tried to book, I was really excited. They seemed very attentive and communicative. The second it was booked, I got silence. They didn't tell me the pick up time until the day before, which was a little difficult as at that time I didn't have internet access as I was in the middle of the ocean, so I didn't know what time I was getting picked up until the morning of, and at that point it was very rushed and hectic.  The main reason I went with the company is because they offered cruise terminal pick up, airport drop off and luggage storage. This meant I didn't need to store my luggage and pay during the day and I didn't need to organise taxi's which I felt would be much less stressful. They also offered a Honolu...

Napali Coast, Coasting Kauai and Goodbye Cruise! / USA and Canada 2024

Image
My last day on the cruise ship was a day at sea along the beautiful Napali Coast with lots of activities and even more evening entertainment.  Click here to watch the vlog or see below.  I woke up after a lovely lie in on my last full day on the cruise ship and was very ready for a day of rest. I started by walking around and taking in the beautiful views of the Napali Coast. It really way incredible and so mesmerizing. The pictures and videos don't do it justice and don't capture the landscape anywhere close to reality. Throughout the day I just kept looking around and seeing it from different angles and perspectives. My favourite was when the grassy, forest area appeared, but there was also a small beach bay area which would have been fun to explore. I couldn't imagine hiking and camping there though.  Breakfast called for a celebration with all the staff doing a conga throughout the dining hall and then going on to do a showcase. Their positive energy was infectious. A...

Pearl Harbor Museum, Hawaii (Review)

Image
My last day in Hawaii was a day trip , including Pearl Harbor. I've shared about the tour operator separately, but this post I wanted to focus on the Pearl Harbor attraction itself.  On walking in, there is a small welcome area which is beautiful. It's got the most perfectly placed palm trees and a little information board. There are some small shops and a cafe to eat at, but the priority here is the museum.  Pearl Harbor is a lagoon harbor on the island of Oahu, Hawaii, and the site of a surprise attack by the Imperial Japanese Navy on December 7, 1941. The attack began at 7:48 AM local time on Sunday, December 7, 1941. The Japanese launched a wave of 177 aircraft to destroy or damage the US Pacific Fleet and its aircraft. The attack killed over 2,400 US servicemen and women, destroyed 188 aircraft, and sank or damaged 21 US warships.  This memorial honours the service members and civilians who died in the attack and the resilience of those affected. The memorial includ...

Hawaiian Beaches, Waikiki Exploring and Honolulu Port! / USA and Canada 2024

Image
My second full day in Hawaii was a little more relaxing. I walked along the coastline and toured the beaches, before heading back to port!  Click here to watch the vlog or see below.  I woke up bright an early to get into breakfast bang on opening. When I arrived there was already a few people standing outside, so I waited a few minutes, then walked to the front, only to see the sign saying it was still another 30 minutes until opening. I was so annoyed because I could have had an extra 30 minutes in bed, but more than that, I had specifically asked 2 waiters the night before what time it opened and confirmed it with the opening times on the way out, because I wanted to have a quick and early breakfast and then get off the ship to make the most of the day. Instead, I had to just walk around the ship and enjoy the view instead.  Once I finally had breakfast and left the ship, I walked through and made my way around the port and to the first of three beaches. I started at A...
