Travel Plan Highlights (USA and Canada 2024)

As promised, I'm sharing all my plans for my upcoming trip to the USA and Canada. I will be sharing all the pictures and vlogs of my trip later, with hotel reviews and trip experiences, but these are what I looked for when booking the trip.

I think New York is well known for two big things. One being shopping and another being tourist hot spots. Now, I'm not a big fan of shopping so I don't think it's a place I'll want to return to any time soon, but the tourist popular attractions are defintely up there. I knew I wanted to go to the Statue of Liberty and the 9/11 Memorial so I started to look into the best value for money. I was torn between the New York Pass, City Pass and Explorer Pass. I ultimately chose the Explorer Pass which meant I could use it over multiple days to visit 6 attractions. I will be sharing my experience afterwards and say whether it was worth it, but I currently plan to use it for Empire State Building, Top of the Rock Observatory, Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island Ferry and 9/11 Memorial and Museum.

From New York as a base, I then booked two trips. I booked a day trip to Washington DC to see the capital highlights, including the Lincoln Memorial, Union Station and the White House. One of the biggest bucket list items was Niagara Falls. Here, I plan to do the Cave of the Winds, Observation Deck, Maid of the Mist, Trolley ride and see the illuminations.

Onto San Francisco, the main thing to do was Alcatraz Island and museum tour. I also booked the Hop-On and Hop-Off bus. I actually booked this in the most of the cities, including New York, San Francisco, Las Vegas and Los Angeles.

Although originally spending a couple of days in Toronto and Vancouver, plans changed a little due to the cruise cancellation, so I am now spending very little time in both places and therefore will just walk around to see the cities instead. I'm then on the cruise for 10 days, with cruise activities and a couple of Hawaii day trips planned.

Moving to Las Vegas, my biggest thing I wanted to do actually isn't in Las Vegas itself, but a day trip to the Grand Canyon and I could not be more excited. I've specifically booked the Skywalk as an add on and I can't wait. In Vegas, I'll just be exploring and enjoying myself. I do plan to go to the casino at least once, but I also want to relax for a little and it's the only hotel I've booked with a pool (bar the cruise).

Finally, in Los Angeles, the majority of the time with be spent on the Hop-On Hop-Off bus and getting off at the stops like the Hollywood Walk of Fame, but I have also booked Universal Studios Hollywood. I thought it would be a good activity to do and I got it for what I thought was a good price. Plus I really wanted to see Harry Potter World. As I've looked more and more into it, I'm actually getting more and more excited for the experience! I also got a free second day which is really good, but I am not quite sure if I will be able to fit it in to be honest.

By the time this goes live, I will probably already be back from my travels but let me know what you think I should have added to the activities!
