30 Hours at the Incredible Niagara Falls! / USA and Canada 2024

A long bus from New York to Niagara Falls for an epic 30 hour trip to the most beautiful place on my trip!

I woke up bright and early for a long travel day as I took the Flix Bus as 8am to Niagara Falls. This was something on my bucket list and I was so excited to go. When I arrived, I headed to the USA National Park side and walked around with my backpack. I then headed over the bridge to the Canadian side, getting tea and heading to the hotel. Every time I saw the falls, my mouth literally dropped open with amazement of how beautiful the place was and everywhere I went it only seemed to get better.

I started my morning with a beautiful walk along the border, before having my first proper American / Canadian breakfast. It was not only delicious, but also so incredible to sit eating whilst watching the falls. What a beautiful morning view.

After breakfast, I headed back over the bridge to the USA. I started with the Maid of the Mist and Observation Deck, then headed to the Caves of the Wind, on the Trolley Tour, Aquarium and Nature Walk. The night before I watched the fireworks and illuminations and so many people told me to only spend a few hours in Niagara, but I knew I wanted to stay overnight to see them and I am so glad I did. For details of each attraction, I've written a full review here.

I headed back to the Canadian side in the evening and by that point I was starving. I went to the Rainforest Cafe for the experience and it was a lot of fun. Once again, the portions were huge but I really fancied one of the starters. I had chicken quesadilla at my cousin's wedding and absolutely loved it so when I saw it on the menu, I had to get it and it was delicious. My main course came as I was half way through, so by the time I got to it, it was a little cold but still delicious. Unfortunately, it was just too much and I was stuffed. I ate over half and it still looked like there was loads left, so they brought me a takeout box to transfer it to.

It was a shame the bus wasn't 20 minutes later, because then I could have watched the fireworks again from the USA side. I could see them from the bus stop but it was over a car park and forest. I was so sad to be leaving to be honest and would have very easily spent longer in Niagara Falls. It will forever hold a special place in my heart.
