Cruise Life, Rocky Sea and Lonely Sadness! / USA and Canada 2024

The first two days on the cruise ship were a little mixed, with ups and downs both literally and emotionally!

I slept great my first night on the cruise and woke up to a beautiful sunrise over the calm sea. My virtual balcony was finally working and so I saw it from the window, then walked around the ships circumference before aqua aerobics and having breakfast. I'm so impressed by the food on the ship. There are so many options and they cater for so many cultures. It wasn't the warmest of days but sitting inside, round the adult pool was perfect. It was heated and steamy and I read my book, whilst watching the sea pass us by.

I was so excited to return to my room to a cute towel animal. This is something I've always looked forward to whenever I go on holiday. The night's theme was formal night so I wore one of my new favourite dresses and then ate in front of yet another sunset at sea. At this point, we were in the middle of the ocean with no signal or internet.
The show was one of the few put on by the Royal Caribbean team. I missed the first 5 minutes and was honestly quite confused by the whole show storyline, but the performances themselves were incredible and the dancing and scene changes were great. I ended up watching it for a second time a couple of hours later after a game show night, and the first 5 minutes defintely explained the whole plot, although it was still a little all over the place. Afterwards, I headed to karaoke and fell in love with one of the voices.
The next day was time for a repeat. It was much sunnier the second day and I enjoyed sunbathing with my drink and second book of the cruise. It was very relaxing and some much needed downtime.
In the evening, the casual dress code was more casual than I had expected but I only brought like nice evening outfits. I still felt really nice in my dress and although it would have looked better in heels, I didn't have enough room in my suitcase and as it was less than 9 nights, I decided to leave them at home. The evenings shows was a comedic juggler. He was pretty good and surprisingly funny so I was happy with the show. I then went to a games show night where they got couples up to race against each other.
In all honesty, I was trying so hard to stay positive but travelling alone is really hard. It's hard to be alone and vulnerable 24/7. There are a lot of lovely people on the cruise but so many people kept telling me how brave I was for travelling alone, when the reality is, I didn't have a choice and it was either never travel or do it alone. Of course, I would much rather be spending time enjoying the experience with someone else but that's just not the reality of my life anymore.
