Hotel EPIK - San Francisco Hotel (Review)
My hotel in San Francisco was the first one to make me think "wow". Hotel EPIK was truly beautiful and I was so impressed. I actually booked all my hotels over a year ago but for some reason, I looked back at the booking for this one about a week before and saw it had dropped it's price to be £100 cheaper, so of course, I cancelled and rebooked as I had free cancellation.
Walking into the room, it was immediately obvious the room's theme was gold and white and it looked stunning. The room was so spacious. There was a big hallway to walk in, a large bed with two side tables and plenty of room to walk around. There was a single sized wardrobe with plenty of hangers and then a desk with the comfiest chair. I loved that little area. They provided a lamp, ice bucket and kettle, then outside my room there was a water cooler and ice machine. I would say whilst this is a great idea, it was probably the main downside because it was really loud and I did get woken up a few times with people collecting ice in the middle of the night.
The bathroom continued to impress with a large vanity unit for plenty of storage, toilet and shower. Of course, the towel rack was over the toilet again, but because of the shelving area, it felt a little more secure. The mirror had LED lights surrounding so was the perfect lighting for doing my makeup, but the shower on the other hand was very dark inside, as the darker tiles almost reflected the single light back out.

As you can see, the yellow / gold theme continued throughout the hotel. This was the lobby and staircase and people were frequently sat chatting and talking. The chairs were really comfy, they provided free drinks for guests, including tea, coffee, snacks, biscuits and fruit infused water too.
Overall, the hotel was lovely. My view out the window wasn't great but I was in the centre of the city, just a 5 minutes walk from the government hall buildings. It was a little further away from the tourist hot spot of Pier 39, but it was about a 50 minute walk which I didn't think would be too bad. Unfortunately, there is quite a large homeless issue so whilst I walked in the morning, I did feel a little unsafe, so I did get an Uber back to the hotel at 11pm each night instead.
