My "Best of 2024" - Pictures Explained

With the end of the year, the next starts and all the annual traditions. The first one, and one of my favourites being to share my best nine images of the year. 2023 was a mixed selection, whereas whilst I defintely have had down days in 2024 and it's not been the best year, my most popular pictures do look to be more positive.
  1. Master's Graduation: I headed down to Chelmsford for a couple of days and enjoyed time with both my mum and dad. We had some yummy food, had a lovely cathedral ceremony and then finished with a Thai meal and night in the hotel.
  2. Major Project Submission: This was one of the biggest relief, submitting my final Major Project assignment. I thought I'd feel a little more happier on the day but I think it was just a bit surreal after immersing myself and being so involved in the topic for so long.
  3. Pneumonia Admission: This was one of the scariest days of my life. I honestly was so worried when I called an ambulance from home and shocked to learn I had bilateral pneumonia, ultimately resulting in a 1 week hospital admission and oxygen for 6 days.
  4. Departing for a Month: This was the first photo I took as I started my USA and Canada trip. I feel like I looked so excited, but deep down I was so sad and terrified that I was going by myself.
  5. I Bought a Car: After driving my grandma's car for the last 5 years, some disgusting person decided to steal my catalytic converter from an NHS hospital car park on Christmas Eve, leaving me to have no car for Christmas as it was written off. The year started off with me buying my first ever car, under the worst circumstances.
  6. First Wedding of the Year: 2024 was the year of weddings. I had 7 in total and it's been very hectic, but the first of the year was a Midwifery university friend Emilia's culture mix of English and Nigerian.
  7. High School Friend's Summer Wedding: Another wedding was my high school friend, Maria's wedding. This was my first Mormon wedding.
  8. Baby Cousin's Wedding Day: The final wedding that made the top 9, was my baby cousin Ellie. She was the most beautiful bride and she partied the night away.
  9. My 28th Birthday: To round of the image highlights of my year, is a picture of me on my birthday. I don't love my hair in this one because my sister curled it and it fell out so quickly, but  it did look much better 5 hours before. I was just happy the sun was shining!

I actually think these images kind of summarise my year quite well. This year has been filled with weddings, illness, travelling and university.
