Patene Pro-V Micellar Water Collection (Review)

Last month, I received my first Savvy Circle* package. I was so excited to see the new Patene Pro-V Micellar Water Collection and even more excited to try it for myself.
Right now, everyone is talking about micellar water especially in skin care. It's been all the range for a while but I had never once heard it linked to hair care. Knowing the properties, it's surprising that more people and companies are using the properties for hair products as well, but nevertheless, Pantene appear to be one of the first.

Micellar water is made up of small balls of cleansing oil molecules that draw impurities up and away. Inspired by this secret beauty ingredient, Pantene Pro-V Micellar Cleanse & Nourish shampoo cleanses deeply without stripping hair from essential oils. It’s a silicone-free formula specially designed for lifeless or greasy hair. You can look forward to gently purified and well-nourished locks. It provides hair with a deep clean without stripping nutrients and provides strength without the added weight.

Onto the collection:
  • Shampoo: When I use a shampoo, I like it to foam up quite a bit and usually, I end up using quite a bit of product. I was impressed with how little product I needed to product a really good foam. It made my hair squeaky clean, providing a thorough wash.
  • Mousse: Having never used an in-shower mousse before, I wasn't really sure what to expect. I was quite amazed with how the product came out and I loved the feel of it. My hair is quite thick but it soaked all the product in very quickly.
  • Conditioner: With a slightly stronger but still lovely fragrance, this conditioner got rid of all my tangles and worked to perfectly smooth my hair.

So having now used the entire range for over a month, I have to say I'm very impressed. I think the system as a whole definitely does what it sets out to do. My hair is literally 'squeaky clean' after the washing process and it doesn't feel heavy in the slightest. In fact, I think it feels just as light as when I go to the hairdressers to have it washed. I feel like my hair gets a very deep and thorough wash without damaging it at all.

I think the product actually smells divine. I'm not really a fan of scented hair products. I very much dislike strong floral smells and tend to go for citrus body products, which obviously can't be used on your hair. This product smells so clean and fresh. It's very subtle but noticeable and lasts well throughout the day. I love it!

I am a long time sufferer of static and frizzy hair, especially on the top of my head with all my baby hairs. It truly is a nightmare! Having tried many products that are specifically meant to reduce this problem, I never expected them to reduce but this collection actually helped reduce them dramatically! I haven't suffered with any frizzy hair since using the product and my static baby hair are much less common.

I felt my hair dried much quicker which could be a total coincidence but is perhaps due to the micellar water technology which prevents water retention. When I did use heated products (blow dryer and straightener), I found it ended up a lot softer and lighter. Having not really struggled with greasy hair, I can't say it reduced by greasiness but many other users have said it has helped their struggle.

Overall, I've really enjoyed using the Pantene Pro-V Micellar Cleanse & Nourish collection and sharing it with friends and family. I will defintely be purchasing this product again but I still have lots left so it may be a while!

*Savvy Circle is a site that is free to join but allows you to be among the first to try new P&G products. You input your social media accounts and are given a score which can improve your chances but mainly it's done randomly. When you are selected for the project, you are given a lot of guidance and feedback forms to share your experience with friends and family. This is all uploaded to the site and the amount you do this can improve your chance at being successful in the next project application.
